"you know he would have stayed."
the voice of her best friend, peggy schuyler shook the blonde out of her dream land and into reality.
"if he had known, he would have stayed."
the dark haired girl repeated, yet the blonde did not speak.
"you should eat, it's not healthy for you and, um, it, if you don't."
she added, and the blue eyed girl finally took a bite of her food.
and another and another and another, until the food in front of her was devoured.
finally, the blonde's shaking hands grasped a letter, a tear stained letter from south carolina and she spoke.
"john..."
the schuyler sister was quick to comfort her, "shh y/n, shh, I know, I know..."
and then the girl glanced at a pile of letters in the corner, "gilbert..."
once again, the youngest schuyler patted her back, "y/n, it'll be alright, he'll be back, soon you'll see, he'll remember you belong together, y/n/n, he'll back, time will tell, he'll remember your times spent well."
y/n wiped away her tears, she could do this, she was strong, she didn't need her older brother, didn't need her lying lover.
she was y/n eleanor laurens and she was strong, she wasn't weak, she was lionhearted and brave, she could do this.
and yeah, maybe peggy was right, oh scratch that, peggy is right.
he would have stayed.
he would have stayed if he knew.
he would have stayed if he knew that she was...
that she was pregnant.
and thus, the end of the first act and the start of the second, beware you all, this time, she's not messing around
