I wrote to the general

the reply to their letters came a month later, eliza's was simple, it was a letter saying that alexander was being sent home now to see his son, which was good news.

y/n didn't even let anyone read her letter, once she heard that a letter had been sent for her from general george washington— ("y/n! there's a letter for you from general washington as well, but why though—?) she had swooped in and grabbed the letter immediately

she was pretty sure they were suspicious of her because she was acting, well, she was acting pretty suspicious.

so she was now in her room, she was isolated, alone, lonely because she's being a secretive little bxtch and because she told everyone to leave her alone because "I'm reading my letter you guys, can you not? oh my god—" which doesn't make sense because she isn't in the modern times okay, she's in the revolutionary era and what she said isn't akin to that era.

anyways, to more important things, like the letter she got from the general.

dear miss laurens,

from the letter I received from you a month ago alongside missus hamilton's, I had to admit I was a bit shocked by its contents, not many women are willing to be placed in a war zone, not even in the sidelines, and we are in dire need of assistance, especially in the medical field, but still, I am a bit wary of bringing you to the battlefield even if it's just in the sidelines, I am reassured by your medical knowledge that you would be a good medic, but I would hate to place you in any danger, your older brother would kill me if you were in danger and for some odd reason, as would the marquis, nevertheless, I am allowing you to go here, use the carriage that brought hamilton home to come to yorktown.

awaiting you,
general washington.

y/n laurens grinned at the contents of the letter.

she was going to yorktown.
