"Are you okay, Keira-Sensei?" Naruto questions as he falls in step next to me.
"Huh?" I looked up from the ground to realize that I was starting to trail behind everyone else,
"Yeah. I'm fine, Naruto. I've just got a lot on my mind right now. Sorry."
"Hey, hey! No one other than Kakashi-Sensei is allowed to kiss you, you shoulda whooped that guys' butt!" he says while grinning,
"You totally could have done it too! I just know it, so cheer up!"
I couldn't help the smile that spread across my lips at his words, although he was a goofball most of the time, he always knows how to make me smile.
"Thank you, Naruto. Let's catch up with the others," I replied. He takes a hold of my hand and pulls me forward while saying,
"Anytime, Keira-Sensei!"

We got back to the Hidden Leaf about three day after, the Third Hokage was happy to hear it was a mission complete. Though it seemed like he was disappointed to hear the other details of our mission, which wasn't really a surprise. After we reported in, everyone headed home. It was getting late already, but I was starting to feel restless.
Kakashi went off somewhere after we reported in, he said he would be back in about an hour, which meant I had some time to myself for a while. I didn't really feel the need to eat anything for dinner, I haven't been hungry lately. After dinner I usually helped Kakashi plan out the next lesson for the Genin, but I would rather just sleep.
I couldn't hold back a yawn as I climbed into bed, and pulled the blanket over myself. I closed my eyes as I rolled over onto the side Kakashi normally slept on. A smile spread across my lips, the pillow on his side still kind of smelled like him. Little things like that always brought me comfort.
I heard the door open and then close, and footsteps on the floor a moment after. It was Kakashi, I knew it was. I sat up and rubbed my eyes as he came over to the bed, I ask
"What took you so long?"
I lowered my hands to see he had a small box in hand, it had holes poked in it, and a small red bow on top. Kakashi sits next to me, he carefully sets the box on the bed while saying,
"I meant to give this to you before our mission, but I had to hold off until now."
I eyed the box curiously, I could now hear a quiet scratching sound coming from inside. And I could already guess why,
"You got me something?"
He nods and replies,
"Open it."
I reached for the box and took the lid off, my eyes widened at what was inside. A small grey kitten was sitting inside, there was white patches on it's paws, chest, and around it's mouth. I could only stare at it as I ask,
"Why did you get me a cat?"
I looked up at him as he replies,
"I thought you'd like to have some company for when I'm not here, and this little guy needed someone to love him. And who better than you?"
I carefully picked up the small animal, it looked at me with wide blue eyes as it meowed quietly. It's fur was extremely soft, and it's whiskers were really long. I set the cat on my lap and it just looked at me again before it started to walk around our bed. It didn't jump off however, it kind of seemed like he was afraid of jumping down to the floor.
"What do you want to name him?" Kakashi asks as he picks the cat up and sets him back on my lap.
I scratched his head and he leaned into it, I could hear him starting to purr. He seemed like quite the curious and friendly type of cat, but at the same time kind of shy.
