"Would you rather, have jumbo sized feet, or jumbo sized hands?" I say as we walk along the sidewalk, me using the big long stick. Sawyer chuckles.

I still can't believe I'm actually talking to her.

I thought I'd lock eyes with her once, but I didn't. We've locked eyes multiple times.

"Oh my God, either way would be such a hard life!" she exclaims. I chuckle with her.

"I know. That's why it's called would you rather." I say with a laugh. She laughs. She pauses for a long time. If I had big hands, my physic abilities or whatever might be twice as powerful. My feet, eh, I'd just have big feet.

"I would go with feet." she says. I raise my eyebrows.

"Really?" I say. "Me too!"

"Hm," she says. "Would you rather have to sit all day, or stand all day?"

Yeash...

"Well, I've done both of those before." I say laughing. She bursts out into a laugh. "But standing stretches your legs out more, because sitting around would just leave you to have back problems man."

"Ha, same here." says Sawyer.

"Would you rather... have to eat centipedes with every meal, or spiders?"

Sawyer hysterically gags.

"Ew! I hate centipedes like so much!" she says with a shudder. I laugh.

"Yeah me too. Centipedes are the worst." I say. I look over at her. She looks over at me, and even though I can't see it, I can tell smiling brightly from under mask. "It's crazy how much we have in common, Sawyer."

I can tell she's smiling even more brightly from under her mask.

"I know. It is crazy, Eli." she says. We get to central park. For some reason there's this man dressed in all black just staring off into space, and just standing in the middle of the park.

"Who's that?" I ask. Sawyer rolls her eyes.

"Just one of my mom's friends." she says. I look at him weirdly.

"Why is he just standing there?" I ask. She snickers.

"It's a long story," she says. We walk a few more feet. She goes in front of me, and stands there. "Well, thanks for walking me home Eli. It was, really nice to meet you."

I smile at her.

"Yeah. Yeah no problem. It was really nice to see you too." I say.

She smiles under her mask. I wonder if I'll ever get to see that smile of hers. I bet it's a good one...

She waves goodbye and turns around and walks towards the man.

"Sawyer wait!" I call. She turns around to me, ready to listen. "...Will I get to see you again?"

She stares at me.

"Most likely." she says. I can hear the smile in her voice. She turns around and starts walking towards the man again. I look at the back of her.

Wow. I can't believe that just happened to me.

That was pretty damn lucky.
