I was walking down the halls to get to the Great Hall to see who was going to be picked and I was stalling on going inside. I didn't want to go in since there was a very good chance Cedric would get chosen to meet his doom. I closed my eyes and opened the door going over and sitting next to Ron as all of Cedric's friends were crowded around him.

" Now the moment you've all been waiting for! The champion selection!" Dumbledore took out his wand and gave a great sweeping wave with it; at once, all the candles except those inside the carved pumpkins were extinguished, plunging them into a state of semidarkness. The Goblet of Fire now shone more brightly than anything in the whole Hall, the sparkling bright, bluey-whiteness of the flames almost painful on the eyes. I looked to the Hufflepuff table catching Cedric's eye and blowing him a kiss and mouthing good luck. He smiled broadly mouthing back 'thank you' making me give back a nervous smile.

The flame in the Goblet turned a bright red and Dumbledore caught the piece of parchment and held it at arm's length so that he could read it by the light of the flames, which had turned back to blue-white.

"The champion for Durmstrang," he read, in a strong, clear voice, "will be Viktor Krum. "

Viktor Krum rise from the Slytherin table and walk toward Dumbledore and stood next to him as Igor congratulated him.

"Bravo, Viktor!" boomed Karkaroff, so loudly that everyone could hear him, even over all the applause. "Knew you had it in you!"

The clapping and chanting died down. Now everyone's attention was focused again on the goblet, which, seconds later, turned red once more. A second piece of parchment shot out of it, propelled by the flames.

"The champion for Beauxbatons," said Dumbledore, "is Fleur Delacour!"

When Fleur Delacour too had stood beside Dumbledore, silence fell again, but this time it was a silence so stiff with excitement you could almost taste it. The Hogwarts champion next. . .

And the Goblet of Fire turned red once more; sparks showered out of it; the tongue of flame shot high into the air, and from its tip, Dumbledore pulled the third piece of parchment.

"The Hogwarts champion," he called, "is Cedric Diggory!"

The uproar from the next table was great. Every single Hufflepuff had jumped to his or her feet, screaming and stamping, as Cedric made his way past them, grinning broadly, he came towards us and stopped in front of me giving me a quick kiss as I congratulated him. He smiled hugging me before going to Dumbledore, no doubt my face was bright red and later my throat would hurt from the screaming I was doing. Indeed, the applause for Cedric went on so long that it was some time before Dumbledore could make himself heard again.

"Excellent!" Dumbledore called happily as at last the tumult died down. "Well, we now have our three champions. I am sure I can count upon all of you, including the remaining students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, to give your champions every ounce of support you can muster. By cheering your champion on, you will contribute in a very real -"

But Dumbledore suddenly stopped speaking, and it was apparent to everybody what had distracted him.

The fire in the goblet had just turned red again. Sparks were flying out of it. A long flame shot suddenly into the air, and borne upon it was another piece of parchment.

Automatically, it seemed, Dumbledore reached out a long hand and seized the parchment. He held it out and stared at the name written upon it. There was a long pause, during which Dumbledore stared at the slip in his hands, and everyone in the room stared at Dumbledore. And then Dumbledore cleared his throat and readout –

"Harry Potter. " I looked at my friend shocked as to why he would do it and how. He sat down though not wanting to be seen, I knew that he didn't want his name put in. " Harry Potter!"
 Bellowed Dumbledore.

" Go on Harry," Hermione said pushing him to go.

" Harry for goodness sake," I said pushing him seemingly pulling him out of his trance. He walked up and I sat back down beside Ron who was glaring at him. Harry walked to where the other champions were while everyone bashed him. They yelled calling him a cheat and saying how he wasn't even seventeen yet.

" He couldn't have done it Ron," I said noticing the glare Ron held.

" Whatever," He said rolling his eyes. I rolled my eyes getting up since I was not going to deal with Ron hating Harry for something he didn't do.

I waited in my dorm for Cedric but he never came instead I got an owl at my window. I opened the window and they flew in giving me the letter before flying back out. I knew it was Cedric's owl making me smile.

Meet me at our spot by the Black lake tomorrow, I have a surprise for you
xoxo Cedric
P.s the guys are giving me crap about this, they say it's corny

I laughed reading the last line before writing a letter back.

They're kind of right it is corny, that said though, I can't wait to see you

P.s I love you

I took my owl out of her cage letting her take it off to Cedric. I smiled leaning out of the window watching the bird fly away. When she came flying back I saw another not in her talons.

Can't wait for the surprise. Love you
xoxo Cedric
