A snake and a lion~Ron Weasley x reader

I woke up early to get ready for whatever Cedric had planned, I didn't know what time we were supposed to meet so I thought best to get up early. I looked through my closet looking for something that was casual but also classy. I found a nice sun-dress that stopped right above my knee and paired it with some boots. When I was putting my earrings in I heard the portrait open, I took out my wand as a defence not knowing who would be down there. When I was at the top of the stairs I saw father standing there with one of my many books in hand, he looked up and smiled when he saw me.

" You look beautiful," He said making me suspicious, he never complimented me unless he felt bad or knew something special was going on. 

" Thanks?" I said but it came out as more of a question. I was about to ask what was going on when I saw Cedric's owl outside my window. I let them in and gave them a treat before it left.

I smiled at the note and so did my dad even though I knew he couldn't read it. " You should go," He said gently and I looked at him weirdly as I didn't understand how he knew about the meeting. " Word gets around." He shrugged and left. I knew that Cedric had told him since I hadn't told anyone and Cedric's friends wouldn't say anything until after we met up. I walked down to our spot and I saw him in a little tux making me smile.

" You look good, I kind of feel underdressed now," I said laughing making him jump. 

"You look gorgeous," He said giving me a quick kiss before leading me over to the rock we always sat on. " You always do though." I blushed at the comment pushing him slightly making him laugh. 

" So is this a celebration for being Hogwarts champion or did ya just miss me," I joked.

" Can't it be both?" He asked wrapping his arm around me.

" I could work with that," I said leaning on him. We talked for a while and eventually, we began walking around the black lake, I was so glad we had all free periods in the morning today. We were splashing in the water with his pants brought up when one of Ced's friends came running over before whispering something to him and running off again.

" Come on I want to show you something," He took my hand leading me away from the lake and back to where we started but this time it was covered with fairy lights all underneath the tree and a picnic blanket was on the rock. 

" Ced," I trailed off as I looked around at the scenery, I was so preoccupied I didn't even notice the people taking pictures of us. He took my hand again leading me to the picnic blanket while Gabe became our waiter. I barely contained the laughter as he told us what we had. 

" Ced this is this is amazing," I said smiling and taking his hand.

" I'm glad you like it," Gabe took everything away as Cedric got up and came beside me. " Y/n, I liked you the second I saw you, I knew I loved you and being with you these past three years has made me realize just how truly amazing you really are. I know we're still young and have a lot to go through but I'd love to go through it with you, This tournament made me really realize how much you mean to me and if something were to happen I'd want to know that you are truly mine," He got on one knee and my heart nearly stopped as I put a hand over my mouth to keep myself from screaming. " Y/n Snape will you be willing to make me the happiest person in the world and marry me?" I shook my head not being able to form words as tears ran down my cheeks. He smiled brightly as he stood up, bringing me with him and spinning me around and kissing all over my face. He let me down and put the ring on my finger.

" It's gorgeous Ced," I said looking at it.

" So your not worried about how young we are, or the age difference?" I shook my head not really caring about any of that right now. " Good your dad had me really worried about that," I laughed understanding why he was acting so weird now.

" I know I love you Ced age doesn't affect that," He smiled leaning in to kiss me.

" That's my mum's old ring too, my dad gave it to her when he proposed," I smiled looking at the ring and loved that it meant something special to him. I heard the bell telling us it was lunch and looked at the building.

" I am going to go show this baby off," I said holding up my ring making Ced chuckle. I ran up to the castle and into the Great Hall where I saw Hermione trying to get the boys to talk again. She saw me and noticed how excited I was and stopped. I sat next to her practically jumping in my seat.

" What's gotten into you?" She asked holding my shoulders to get me to stop jumping. I showed her my ring and she looked at it to me then to the Hufflepuff table searching for him. " He didn't!" She squealed.

" He did!" I said looking at the ring. " It was so great-" 

" What did who do?" Ron asked cutting me off but I couldn't care as I was too happy right now. I showed him the ring and he didn't seem to get the message so Hermione said it.

" He proposed!" She whisper yelled so no one else would hear. His eyes got large as he looked at my hand and to the Hufflepuff table just like Hermione. Before he could say anything I took Hermione and motioned for one of my Slytherin friends to come with me. We got into my room and she noticed the ring right away. 

" Aren't you guys too young?" Audrey asked looking at the ring. 

" I mean yeah but we won't get married until after we both graduate, it's more like a promise ring for now," I said admiring the ring myself.

" Well, whatever it is it's gorgeous," Hermione said.

" Does your dad know?" Audrey asked and I nodded giggling thinking about this morning.

" Yeah, Cedric asked him for permission."

" Aww, that's adorable!" They cooed. I smiled not knowing that Ron was complaining in the Great Hall about the whole ordeal. I didn't know that Ron was jealous of Cedric and that's why he always teased me about him. I didn't know this would affect our friendship so much.
