I was in a room in the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix since Harry had been expelled from Hogwarts. Moody, Tonks and a couple of other people were going to get him and Hermione, Ron and I were waiting in the room for him. As soon as the door opened Hermione had tackled Harry into a hug as I stayed back on the bed alone with Ron.
" Harry! You alright? We overheard them talking about teh dementor attack. You must tell us everything." Hermione said looking back at us as I walked behind Ron. He and I have gotten closer over the summer with him dragging me out of the house at least once a week until I got a little better.
" Let the man breathe, Hermione," Ron said although she didn't hear.
" And this hearing at the Ministry. It's just outrageous. I've looked it up, they simply can't expel you. It's completely unfair." She ranted.
" Yeah. There's a lot of that going 'round at the moment." Harry said making me feel slightly bad for him. " So, what is this place?" He asked changing the subject.
" It's headquarters," Ron said.
" Of the Order of the Phoenix," I continued. " It's a secret society. Dumbledore formed it back when the fought You-Know-Who."
" Couldn't have put any of this in a letter, I suppose?" Harry said dryly. " I've gone all summer without a scrap of news."
" We wanted to write, mate. Really, we did." Ron said and I nodded while Hermione looked like she was about to explode. " Only,"
" Only what?" Harry asked him.
" Only Dumbledore made us swear not to tell you anything!" Hermione said in guilt.
" Dumbledore said that?" Harry asked and you could hear the hurt in his voice. " But why would he keep me in the dark? Maybe I could help. After all, I'm the one who saw Voldermort return, I'm the one who fought him, who saw Cedric Diggory get killed." I flinched at the mention of his name and Ron put a hand on my shoulder in reassurance.
" Harry," Fred and George suddenly appeared behind him, something they've been doing since turning seventeen.
" Thought we heard your dulcet tones," George said.
" Don't bottle it up, though, mate. Let it out." Fred said as Harry stepped back.
" Anyway if you're all done shouting,"
" Do you wanna hear something a little more interesting?" Fred asked and we went to the top of the stairs and lowered down the enchanted ear.
" If anyone has a right to know, it's Harry. If it wasn't for Harry we wouldn't even know Voldermort was back. He's not a child, Molly," Sirius said.
" But he's not an adult either. He's not James, Sirius," Molly defended.
" Well he's not your son," Sirius shot back.
" He's as good as. Who else has he got?" She asked.
" Hey Ginny," Harry said as Ginny joined us.
"He's got me," Sirius said.
" How touchingly paternal, Black," Dad said. " Perhaps Potter will grow up to be a felon, just like his godfather." I rolled my eyes as he said this.
" Now you stay out of this, Snivellus," Sirius said using the old nickname I knew my da hated.
" Snape's part of the order?" Harry asked looking up from the bottom of the stairs.
" About your supposed reformation," Dad continued as Crookshanks, Hermione's cat, began playing with the ear.
" I know better," Sirius said.
