Izetta's POV
I got dressed and I headed to the library while making sure not to be seen by anyone. I walked inside and went to my secret spot. I slipped inside and I gasped as I saw that it was decorated beautifully with lights and flowers. I looked around breathlessly at the care that had been put in.
"Do you like it, my dear?" I looked to Loki as he revealed himself. He was dressed in a fine suit, not his regular robes. Of course, they were almost the same, but there were slight differences. There was a bit more color and I could tell that it was the absolute best of the best. His hair was also done nicely. It was the same style, but I could tell he did it with care. I blushed heavily as I admired, well, everything.
"Loki...you did all this?" He smiled.
"Happy Birthday, my darling." I walked over to him and he took my hands in his.
"Always so dramatic."
"Don't act like you don't adore this, my little mistress." I chuckled.
"You don't know the half of it." I looked around as he pulled me into his arms. "This is...beautiful."
"As are you, my dear." I leaned in and kissed him. He gladly returned it as I started to hear soft music playing in the background. I looked over as saw an illusion of instruments playing in the corner. I chuckled, finding the trick both cute and romantic.
"Well, that's handy." He smiled.
"Anything for you." I blushed as he stepped back, offering his hand to me. "Care for a dance, my mistress?"
"I would love one."
I happily took his hand as he pulled me into a waltz position. My blush only deepened when his hand rested on my hip. He was so close and I adored it. I could smell whatever cologne he was wearing. It was bold yet relaxing at the same time. I couldn't quite place it. It certainly fit him.
We danced gently together listening to the music and enjoying our time together. He wasn't a bad dancer. I didn't know what kind of things Asgardian Royalty learned. Not to mention Loki probably had a lot of different things about his education and skills than Thor, even if both of them had been raised similarly.
His movements were smooth and I was more than happy to follow his lead. I think he was enjoying being in charge a little more than he should've, but it was Loki. I couldn't really say I expected anything different. He sure did make it easy to obey at times, though. Let's just say, he was better at getting me to follow him like this than he was with his act back on Earth.
As the dance started to take an easier route for a bit, we began to talk, focusing less on fancy footwork and more on each other. Not that it was really hard to dance and talk when you weren't doing anything that required an insane amount of energy, but still.
"Was today delightful for you?" I nodded, happily allowing him to place both his hands on my hips as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.
"Yes. Everyone was so nice. I loved the gifts. Although, I feel a little bad not being able to celebrate with my family and friends back home. It's a lot different here for celebrations. Plus, Tony always makes big deals out of everything, so it's just kind of odd to me." He lifted my chin up.
"Don't worry about that, my dear. Today is yours. You should not bring yourself down like that. Especially on your twentieth birthday."
"You mean my 1000th birthday?" He chuckled.
"Exciting, isn't it?" I blushed a bit.
"It's...strange. More so just because I don't remember it. And what I do remember just felt like my age passed normally."
"Darling, this is normal for us."
"But I didn't know that."
"You did, you just forgot."
"Close enough!" I laughed a bit and so did he. I frowned a little after we calmed down. "I just...it almost feels unreal. I mean, what? It'll be another fifty years before I have a technical 'birthday' again? I...I don't know if it even feels right to live that long. I don't think my head can even understand it."
"Izetta," I looked back up into his eyes as he spoke gently. "I will be with you through it all. You don't have to wrap your head around it yet. You don't even have to think about it. Just focus on enjoying yourself tonight. We can think about a few thousand years from now, later." He joked slightly. I smiled, grateful that he was trying to take my mind off things.
"I know. You're right. Besides, I don't want to leave all this. This is...so perfect." He smiled happily, clearly pleased that I was enjoying it so much.
"I'm glad you think so, dearest. I would've hated to have done this for nothing." I couldn't believe he'd said that.
"For nothing? Loki, nobody has ever done this for me before. This is nothing like what Tony does and it's...special. It's not just a party. It's something we can cherish on our own and that's something I never expected to get from, well, anyone. What kind of person would I be if I didn't love it?" His smile and joy were genuine. He was truly happy with me and I was happy with him.
"You really love it that much?" I gave him another kiss, showing him with action first rather than words.
"Everything you've done for me, despite all that we've been through, is more than I ever could've asked for." He chuckled a little, blushing a bit.
"You know...I could say the same to you, my dear." I tilted my head a little, wondering what he meant. "You gave me another chance, an honest chance. Even after I...did things to make you lose faith in me, you chose to stay by my side. You chose to be by my side. I never imagined that I would win you over like this. Although, this is very much so the preferable way to obtain your loyalty and care, no matter how unexpected."
"I don't think either of us was expecting this, Loki." I transformed into my hybrid form, wrapping my tail around both of us and pulling him even closer. "But I wouldn't change it. I don't want to change it. I...I forgive you. I love you for who you really are. That isn't going to change."
"I would surely hope not, my dear." He kissed the top of my head. "I have never felt like I belonged somewhere as much as I feel like I belong with you." My heart fluttered at his words and I couldn't stop smiling even if I tried.
"I'm just happy that you're finally being honest and caring. I didn't know if you had it in you." He blushed a little.
"A side I only wish you to see of me, my darling." I giggled as we danced for a while longer before he finally guided me over to share some berries with him. They were delicious. Asgard really did have the finest of everything, I had to give them that. Not to mention Loki made sure I always received the absolute best. I was pretty spoiled, honestly, but I was always exceedingly grateful for the privileges I had.
We talked and sat side by side after we finished our shared snack, listening to the music happily. It was so sweet and romantic. I couldn't have asked for him to give me a better birthday. It was wonderful.
"You've made me so happy, Loki. Thank you for this. I won't forget it."
"Well, the night isn't over, my dear." I was confused until I saw him pull out two boxes. I was stunned at how beautifully wrapped they were. I couldn't believe that he'd actually gotten me gifts! I knew he would always try to spoil me, but this was almost starting to be too much.
"Loki, are you serious? You didn't have to do this."
"I wanted to. You deserve the world and more, my little mistress. And I promise to give it all to you." I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I appreciate the thought, but chose your words carefully, Loki." He chuckled.
"Alright, alright. Just a metaphor, my dear." I took them and set them beside me. "Open the bigger one first." I grinned, wondering what he was up to. "Just humor me, Izetta." I sighed and took the bigger one first.
I opened it up and I was speechless with what was in there. I took it out carefully, making sure that I had a good grip on it. It was stunning.
"I had it made for you. It even has a bit of power in it. It is much stronger than it looks. I made sure to get the best. I want you to take it wherever you go. It's all yours." I smiled happily and kissed his cheek.
"This is beautiful, Loki. Thank you." I then moved on to the next box. I opened it and I was even more blown away. "Oh my God...Loki..."
"It's made of a special stone. That's why it glows like that, but only when it's dark. I wanted you to have something to show that...you're mine." I blushed heavily. I put it on immediately and I leaned in, kissing him passionately. I was almost overwhelmed by how much care he put into this. I held him tight, never wanting to let go. "Keep both of them with you. You'll be safe if you do. And you'll always have a piece of me with you." I was so incredibly happy. He had done so much and all of it had made my heart even more enthralled with him.
"I'll never take it off." He looked thrilled.
"Really?"
"Really. I love it beyond what I can ever express, Loki." I kissed him again. "However, I love you even more than that. Thank you for all of this." His eyes were shining with pride and happiness.
"I will always be here for you. You've stolen the heart of a god, my darling. And, for once, I don't intend to take it back." I giggled.
"Good. Because I might not want to give it back." He kissed the bridge of my nose.
"So, you will stay with me, darling?" I blushed.
"As long as you promise to behave."
"I suppose I can make an exception." I chuckled.
"Seriously, I... Thank you, Loki. For everything." He tucked a start of hair behind my ear.
"The pleasure will always be mine, my dear. However, I think it's time we get you to bed. It's getting late. Not that you need sleep to be beautiful, but your well-being is still my main concern other than your enjoyment." I nodded.
"I'll meet you there soon, alright?" He gave me one more kiss.
"I would love nothing more."
