Zapping, burning sparks are sent flying throughout my wrists, clamped into iron cuffs, making me scream in horrid pain. If only Sawyer were in the house to hear it!
The cuffs turn off, relievingly again.
Phineas hands the remote control connected to the cuffs to another mysterious man. Three other men have arrived in this house, all in black. They had to have come from the campus.
They'ved cuffed me with cuffs from the campus too, except these are so much different. They have a connection with a remote that can send electrical sparks, burning the living hell out of my wrists.
We were brought down to the basement. A very dark place, where all there is is cement, floor to ceiling.
"She's tougher than she looks." says Phineas to the guards. He swifts back his disgusting blonde hair, and stares down at me with with his dark, evil eyes.
I turn to my side, taking a moment to breathe. I'm sweating all over from the amount of pain they've given me, each very long strand of my light brown hair turning dark and ruffled.
"Laura..." says Phineas walking towards me. I look up at him, full of fury. He kneels down at me. "All you need to say, is the truth..."
"Like I've said... a million times! I'm, her, trainer! I wanted to make sure she was safe! I don't work for anyone for the love of God!" I shriek. Phineas gets up and shakes his head. He takes the remote from the guard.
Dammit no!
I clench my teeth, closing my eyes from fear.
My whole body flings when my hands are on yet another electrical, sparking impact. I let out another scream in horror. I try to keep my hands away from my body, since that would make my entire body flowing with sparks.
It stops quickly, me hyperventilating breathes in relief.
"In case you've forgotten... Sawyer was sent here to look for the source. Not to have fun..." says Phienas. I glare up at him, breathing with my teeth clenched, as foul sweat drips down my face like water.
"In case you've forgotten... Sawyer is a child!" I yell. "Who has been held in this building her whole life! Do you expect her to do only what she came here for? Not live like a real child? Not try the things the things of city! Not meet anyone?!!"
Phineas stares at me, shaking his head.
His thumb snaps onto the remote, sending another series of shocks to my wrists. I let out a screeching, long wail. It stops again, making me breathe heavily. Steam is rising off from my wrists now, them burning more than ever.
"She is an innocent little girl trying to find her place! That building has taken away so many opportunities! She's found new clothes, new food, met a person to love!" I shriek at him. Phineas shoots me a look, when I realize the last words I just said was a big mistake.
"I'm sorry, when you say 'met someone to love'... what do you mean by that...?" he says stepping towards me. I immediately start to panic.
Shit, shit, shit I messed up. I so messed up.
He leans down, looking down at me.
"What do you mean?!" he exclaims.
"Nuh... nothing..." I shudder.
A million bolts, sparks, shocks burn my wrists once again, making my entire body wobble this time, "AaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAHHH!"
It stops, making me look up at him, feeling weak as ever.
"Tell me! Or I swear the next series of shocks will go until you stop breathing!" he growls.
"She... she... she met someone!" I wail straight after he yells at me. He looks at me, a look almost like betrayal. "She met him while looking for the source! She started seeing him and went on a date with him!"
He seems confused, but angry.
"She's just seeing the world..." I snap. "You can't be mad at her for doing that!"
He grabs onto my shoulders and start shouting into my face.
"You sneak onto this trip without us knowing... and let her date a stranger!!" he screams. "Have you lost your damn mind?!"
"I don't know!" I exclaim raising my eyebrows. "Maybe you should keep a closer eye on Sawyer if she's been able to get away with all of that without you knowing! Maybe you've lost your damn mind!"
He shoves me down to the ground, along with another brief series of shock. This time I barely even let out a scream, just letting out shaking groans.
It stops, when Phineas is slowly walking away.
"You shouldn't have come here, Laura. It didn't have to come to this..." mutters Phineas. I look over at him, worried. "Now you have five seconds to answer this question... or those cuffs will turn on... and never turn off..." he walks towards me, showing me the remote with a wicked snarl.
I breathe heavily from the threat, fear rising up my in my body instantly.
"Where is this boy Sawyer has been seeing...?" he growls, demanding for an answer. "One..."
"I don't know! I swear I don't know! She never told me, please!" I shriek.
"Two..."
"Please don't do this! She never told me where he lives! He lives in the city in this tall house, that's all I know! I swear!" I wail.
"Three..."
He still thinks I'm lying!!
"Four!!"
"He lives in this city! That's all I know!" I wail.
"Okay times up, that's a shame." says Phineas standing up straight, about to press the remote.
"WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! I swear! I swear!" I plead. He stops and listens, his thumb hovering over the button. "I mean it! That's all I know! That's honestly all I know! Please! Please...! Please..."
He stands there for a few seconds... and hands the remote to a guard.
I sigh in huge relief, jaw dropped.
"If this boy is distracting Sawyer from the main purpose why she's here... something has to keep her away from him..." explains Phineas.
I stare at Phineas confused, wondering where he's going with this.
"This only ends... with the boy's death."
