The Infinite Tsukuyomi had finally been released by Naruto and Sasuke.
Sakura and I helped the two walk back to the main battlefield where everyone would be waiting for us while Kakashi Sensei went on ahead fo inform the others.
"I can't wait to go back home. For real this time. No more shenanigans or trying to start a damn revolution," I huffed and the three of us eyed Sasuke who was being held by Sakura with his right arm over her shoulder.
"I get it. Stop looking at me," he turned his head away from us and we proceeded to laugh at him.
"Not so tough now huh," teased Sakura with a grin on her lips as she kept her emerald eyes forward.
"Don't worry Sasuke, I'll teach you how to be tough like me," proudly said Naruto as he straightened himself up to appear taller.
The Uchiha rolled his eyes and dismissed his words.
We made it back to the battlefield and arrived to our friends surrounding us although some weren't too welcoming of Sasuke.
"We'll take care of them for you," stepped up Neji and Shikamaru who took them off our shoulders.
"Thanks," I said to them and the girls grouped up with us consisting of Hinata, Tenten and Ino.
"I'm r-really glad you two are okay," stuttered Hinata with a warm smile.
"No, I'm glad you're all safe and sound. I'm just... happy that we made it out alive," I motioned my hand to them and the group of boys that were near us.
"Of course we would be. We're tough too," cackled Kiba as he flexed his arm and I stifled a laugh and so did everyone else, but we stopped once we heard a booming voice.
"Everyone!!" Shouted Lady Tsunade from the top of her lungs as she stood beside the rest of the other four Kages on top of a boulder. "Thank you for your efforts during this grueling war and although we have lost some comrades, let us not forget them and not let their deaths be in vain! Every shinobi please gather together with your respective village!"
Everyone started to form into rows in front of their respective Kage as they hauled back the dead bodies of their fallen comrades.
My friends and I lined up with the other Leaf shinobi and we headed back to the Hidden Leaf Village.
~Two days later~
A funeral was held for those who lost their lives including Shikaku Nara and Inoichi Yamanaka.
Ino linked her arm with mine with tears running down her baby blue eyes as she rested her head on my shoulder. Shikamaru rested his head against mine and squeezed my hand as he gravely stared at his father's tombstone.
I squeezed his hand back and he looked over at me and once he did, I mouthed 'I'm here for you.'
I brought them in close and allowed them to unleash their grief without any interruptions because I understood how it felt to lose a parent. In my case it was two, but it was still... so painful.
~The next day~
Naruto and Sasuke were in the same hospital room and had been bandaged and cleaned up from their fight that occurred a couple of days ago and would be allowed to leave soon.
"You two look better now," I pulled out two chairs that were nearby for Sakura and I to sit on.
"That's probably the ugliest I've seen you two," snorted Sakura.
"Hey!" Accused Naruto with a pout on his lips.
A knock was heard from the door and Naruto allowed them to enter.
