"This is the first step in controlling your tailed beast." Motoi pointed a finger at a patch of grass that was in the middle of the waterfall and instructed us to sit there where we would see our true self.
Naruto and I seated ourselves there in a cross cross position and stared at the waterfall before closing our eyes. We silently meditated and blocked out our surrounding as we each went into our subconscious.
"Were you disgusted by them?" Asked a familiar voice and once I snapped open my eyes, almost an exact replica of me had stepped out from within the waterfall. The only difference between us was that she had red eyes and her sclera was pure black unlike my (e/c) eyes.
"What?"
"You heard me. I know what you felt the moment those villagers asked for an autograph. Loathing."
"I..." I mean, she wasn't entirely wrong. The memories of the past did cross my mind and I did loathe them, but I was mainly conflicted with my emotions. I was unsure as to how I should feel now. Especially now that they're treating me like one of their saviors.
"They use to treat us like pests! A monster! We were merely a child...And now, they want to act all nice because we saved their asses from dying!"
"They..." I struggled to find the right response but ended up changing the topic. "What exactly are you?" I asked and she scoffed at me.
"I'm you. The real you. The darkness and hatred that resides inside you. The darkest part of you." She clenched and unclenched her hands and darkly stared at me. "The Eleven Tails has taken quite a liking to me. I've been more in touch with her than you ever have."
"Last time I checked, you didn't exist. Besides the last time I saw her was when she nearly took control of me. The only real one here is me. I'll drive you out of here!"
"Let's see you try, weakling!"
We sprinted towards each other and clashed with our fists. I brought my leg up and she did the same, blocking the blow. We brought our leg down and I jumped back and did a few hand signs for a simple jutsu.
'Fire style: Crimson Flowers.' I inhaled a large breath and spewed small, dark fireballs that resembled crimson flowers. With my chakra, I maneuvered each one of them in her direction, but she did the exact same hand signs as me and performed the same jutsu. We both jumped back trying to evade the fireballs that were about to singe our skin while trying to not lose focus on our jutsu.
I cancelled my jutsu and pulled out my dagger as I ran towards her. She pulled out a kunai and we engaged in taijutsu battle, but we were evenly matched. If I landed a blow on her, she would do the same or we could evenly block each other.
This went on for awhile and we would occasionally throw a jutsu at each other. All of this was getting pretty tiring and I just wanted it all to end.
I kept a good distance from and made a Rasengan in my hand. Noticing what I was doing, she started to make a Rasengan as well. We charged at each other with the intent to kill and as our justus collided, we were both thrown back and I ended up hitting my back against a tree.
I was thrown out of my subconscious and shot my head up as I stared at the waterfall.
"(Y/n), you're back!" Exclaimed Naruto and I turned my body around to see him waiting alongside Captain Yamato and Motoi.
"Guess I lasted a little longer than you did," I plopped myself on the ground and sighed.
'This is more difficult than I thought.'
"Did you fight someone too?" Asked Captain Yamato.
"Yeah...an exact replica of me. My dark side." I placed my arms behind my head and gazed up at the streaks of light that penetrated through the trees.
