The earpiece was set on the table. It looked like an earring, metallic and silver. Unlike his previous two earpieces, it was more refined.
This earpiece worked differently than Yato's original ones. His first earpiece was made out of a molded pen, and fueled by a small battery, inserted directly into his temple. It let him use his electrical Rad-A: Instant Kill, but it ran out of power quick, making it an ineffective and unreliable way for him to use his Rad-A. His next earpiece was created using the mechanics from Baretti Kiritojin's bag. That earpiece was fueled on the pleasure that Yato gained in his brain, mostly from the dopamine levels. However, upon reaching maximum pleasure, the earpiece would slowly drain energy and Yato would have to wait until the cool-down period for the earpiece arrived. Not only that, but it was destroyed by one of Seraph's bullets.
This new earpiece didn't need to be lodged into Yato's temple for it to function. All it needed was to be hooked onto Yato's ear, transferring energy through the cartilage and soon into the neural network that went through his brain. Yato needed to tap this earpiece in order to activate the energy required to fuel Yato. Upon tapping it, a signal is directed to Mega Lovi, who would press the activation button right in the garage, or for emergencies, within her chest. Yato relied on Mega Lovi to activate his Rad-A, and she could refuse at any time.
"This way," Fairy said as she finished explaining, "We could monitor your behavior to ensure that you won't go off killing people."
Yato laid at the couch in silence. He didn't have any opposition to the option. Killing people wasn't really his goal in the Extermination Point, rather it was to get the attention of Seraph to kill him. With Seraph dead, Yato didn't exactly have any other plans rather than to relax and keep up with appearances.
"I swear, I'm going to enjoy beating the hell out of you," glared Fairy as she tossed the earpiece at Yato, "Put it on. We're going for a test run."
—
Fairy stood across Yato on the field behind the garage house. She had her Deck of Cards ready in her hand.
"To begin, turn on your earpiece," announced Fairy.
Yato put his earpiece on his ear, tapping it once. Mega Lovi received the signal and opened up her chest compartment, pressing the button. The earpiece glowed once and Yato could finally feel the power of his Rad-A once again, ever since the Extermination Point.
Begin.
Zap!
Green streaks of lightning had already grazed through the field, with Yato emerging from behind Fairy at the speed of light. In the air, his leg had already been raised, ready to kick Fairy down.
However, Fairy had already pulled out a card from her deck, "The 10 of Diamonds! Godod, the Third Card!"
Fairy barely dodged Yato's kick, sidestepping as Godod the salamander slid across the ground. As Yato landed, he too had slipped and began to fall. At that moment, Fairy pulled out another card from her deck, with Godod vanishing.
"The third of Hearts!" yelled Fairy, revealing her card, "Disx, Farmer of Cards!"
Disx the gecko was released from outside of the card, immediately zapping at the puddle of water Godod had created before falling down. Upon hitting the puddle, Yato was shocked by the electrical current that flowed into the water!
"Woah!" exclaimed Rose in amazement, "She countered the ambush at light speed!"
"Fairy's quick-thinking skills had improved since her fight with Yato in the Extermination Point," explained Near, "She had even learned to vanish cards she was already done with to release combos that she could create, rather than just laying a single monster on the field at a time."
Fairy pulled once more, with Disx vanishing, "The 9 of Hearts! Haze, the Second Card!"
However, before the Haze the spider could spit out the poison balls at Yato, he had transmuted into lightning to stand atop firm grass. He then instantly increased the voltage of his electricity for a split second, the brightness of the streaks blinding Fairy, causing her to close her eyes.
Just as she closed her eyes, she felt a punch to the stomach, sending her flying into the air. Yato transmuted once more, appearing behind her to continue the combo with a hammer-kick to the ground, but the blinded Fairy pulled out another card during the pain.
Yato was blown away from pressurized water, with Fairy landing on the ground in rubble. As she opened her eyes, she found out that she had pulled the 6 of Spades: Godod, the Card of Royals. Godod kept on shooting pressurized water at Yato, simply walked forward in an attempt to play mind-games with Fairy. The water from Godod didn't even touch Yato due to the electrical barrier he had.
Soon, the green electricity that emitted around Yato began to change color into pink, which was his hidden Rad-A: The Tamashii. With it, he could potentially temporarily steal Fairy's Rad-A. Fairy acted quick and pulled out another card, Godod vanishing once again.
"Just my luck!" complained Fairy, "The Jack of Hearts! Disx, Jack of Cards!"
A giant gecko appeared behind Fairy, summoning lightning strikes at Yato as the clouds began to darken. These lightning strikes didn't do much to Yato anyway, since he just absorbed the energy from them!
The pink lightning finally crackled, shooting straight toward Fairy!
