Taking an alternate route, Mara traveled through the ventilation shafts that connected from the top of the laboratory. Unlike the other groups, she had to travel by herself because of Rachael and Zora's failure to get to the mission on time.

"TOR really has no discipline," Mara complained in her thoughts.

She bust open one of the vents leading into the hallways of the laboratory and dropped down. She held up her gun and continued forward, walking slowly to make sure she could hear her surroundings. It was likely that the Hit-Team would be releasing some experiments to keep their guard up, so she was on the look-out for that as well. However, her main priority was capturing one of the girls.

"The mission didn't provide a rough sketch for the laboratory," thought Mara, "I'm basically wandering through this mess."

As she turned around the corner, she pointed the gun forward, finding no one there and returning to a defensive position. Mara was the top trained officer at the MoS, earning her a right to be the vice-captain for the organization, helping out Derek with his approaches. Her Rad-A was strong enough to defend herself as well.

Mara quickly turned around, hearing the sudden noise from behind her. She fired two shots as she backed away, noticing the large creature in front of her. It was mostly brown, with two large wings on its back. It's mouth was sometimes opened with sharp teeth, and it had two furry ears. It's round eyes were a crimson red, and it's tail was massive, to the point that it stretched to one of the hallway's corners. It's small arms had claws, and it had no legs, slithering through the hallway.

Mara knew that this was one of Baretti's experiments. She just didn't know which one. Luckily, the skin of creature only looked rough, but was pretty soft to shoot. The bullets that Mara had fired earlier had pierced through the monster's skin easily, causing it to bleed. However, even with the continuous shots that Mara fired, the creature didn't seem to be going down. Soon, Mara aimed her shot towards the head of the creature, instantly decapitating it cleanly.

However, the creature merely grew back two heads. It was a Hydra-type creature. Baretti Kiritojin had been experimenting with making a real-life Hydra! This creature was known as Bigan, a lab experiment that was combined from multiple creatures that Baretti could get his hands on. Snakes, dogs, lizards... they were all used to form this Hydra.

Mara continued shooting, but wasn't able to decapitated the heads quick enough. Soon, Bigan had 16 heads. The body remained the same, slithering onward and onward. It was when Mara had ran out of her pistol's ammo that she found herself cornered. For her last resort, she began to summon her Rad-A.

"Life Bringer," Mara announced as the hands of zombies broke out of the metal floor of the laboratory.

Despite being on a floor above ground level, Mara could still use the power of her Rad-A at a tall height. As long as the original corpse of the "radiation zombie" was directly below at the time of the summoning, she could still control it. Soon, multiple zombies had appeared within the tight hallway, following and obeying Mara's order and gathering around Bigan. They jumped on top, chewing and ripping out the flesh of the creature, who tried desperately to attack.

Due to Bigan's regenerative body, it was more of a defensive creature compared to Krystalax. The regeneration initially worked well against the zombies that Mara had summoned, but as the number of zombies grew, the more difficult it was for Bigan to regenerate. Soon, the zombies began to tear off Bigan's heads, who instinctively grew more. It was revealed that Bigan had at least 42 heads by the time the zombies were still chewing and decapitating.

Mara had to stay by and watch as Bigan got mauled by the zombies. If she were to leave the area, the Rad-A would be cancelled and the zombies would instantly disappear and return to their graves. She'd be left defenseless to fend off against the monstrosity that was Bigan. All she could do now was hope that the zombies could hold Bigan off until further help arrived.

But it was not necessary. Bigan's body began to disintegrate as it had finally used up enough stamina that it could no longer regenerate. The zombies had eaten off the leftover parts that didn't regenerate, and Bigan had turned into a meal for Mara's Rad-A. As the zombies returned to their graves, Mara gave a huge sigh of relief as she continued on her journey through the laboratory. She needed to find another weapon. This laboratory had a sinking feeling as she treaded further. She could no longer feel like she could confidently summon her zombies anymore.
