The immense pressure began to put a strain on Yato. It was to the point that he was struggling to stand up.
"Come on then," said Adachi, pulling out a sword made from multiple harmful materials created through the vision of Shift 3, "Let's have a duel, like how they did it in olden days. It's quite fitting for a final fight like this."
It was at this moment that Yato was slowly getting up, already on his knee. In his hand, he began to concentrate, forming a lightning blade, shaking while doing so. It took a few more seconds until he was able to stand completely, however slightly slouched down. He was sweating buckets.
"We only have a few minutes in here," said Adachi, "So let's make this quick. Once your concentration is broken, my Shift 3 will destroy this entire dimension, transporting me, the sole survivor to a different one. Soon, I'll be able to reach Ikarus and kill him, causing one of the greatest Law Shifts in the multiverse."
"Quit talking," glared Yato, slumping even more in stress, "You've been talking too much. Your gloating... it's irritating."
ZOOMF!
It was a Crab Walk! Adachi was already in front of Yato!
SLAM!!
"Gaagh!" yelled Yato, falling down with a thud, his lightning sword fading away.
"I have the power to talk here, Yato," smiled Adachi, feeling the side of his blade, "If I had pierced your body with this, it would've killed, wouldn't it? It was an initial test anyways. It seems like your electrical barrier can't passively protect you because your energy is too focused on maintaining the Trigger.
Get up."
Yato was struggling to stand from his laid down position. He soon sat up, and formed another lightning blade in his hand. After a few more seconds, he was able to stand up again.
"It was nice fighting with you, Yato, really," said Adachi, "I would've hoped for a more interesting fight, but it seems I've overpowered you too much."
Adachi was in front of Yato once again, swinging his sword using the blade.
CLANG!
Yato swung back, parrying the blade attack and causing Adachi to shockingly lose focus. He then followed up with an immediate stab through his chest! Blood soon spilled out of Adachi's body.
"You... you moved a little too fast there..." stuttered Adachi in awe.
"I was pretending to struggle," glared Yato, "It was a gamble to let you land the first hit, but I knew the opportunity would soon arise."
However, the sword was immediately rejected from Adachi's body, instantly healing the wound.
"Don't you get it though, Yato?" stated Adachi, shaking his head, "Division Shift 3 lets me manipulate the Exterior. These small wounds won't be enough to kill me. In fact, they didn't even harm me. I simply used Shift 3 to transfer my pain and my wounds to someone else in this dimension.
You didn't stab me. You just stabbed some unlucky random person."
"You bastard!" yelled Yato, rushing in for another attack.
"Don't rush," smiled Adachi.
CLANG! CLANG!
"You parried my counterattack. I'm impressed, Yato. Your training has seriously proven you worthy."
"Being on an equal level and not letting your illusions get in my way is the only real advantage I have here. It's just up to me to finish this."
Yato transmuted behind Adachi, kicking him away before transmuting above him. Adachi slashed immediately on top of him, but it was a feint, letting Yato teleport behind and stab Adachi again in the back. He transmuted into lightning and got away to a safe distance.
"I said this before, Yato," glared Adachi as he smiled, healing his wound, "I'm just transferring the damage! Hit me as many times as you want, but you're still hurting someone else!"
"That was only two times," mumbled Yato, "They were decent sacrifices needed to be made. However, I'm already on your par. Back then, I struggled to even get a hit on you."
"That may be so, but it's not changing the outcome of this battle."
At that moment, Yato's shaking had become apparent, and he collapsed to one knee onto the floor. His lightning blade had immediately vanished.
"Gyahahaha!" laughed Adachi heartily, "I knew it! The pressure of Shift 3 and the constant use of your Trigger's energy really did put you in a lot of stress! You were bluffing this entire time about being able to fight! And you even had the balls to use lightning transmutation in battle.
I love your fighting spirit, Yato! Your technique and your mind tricks work wonders to even people who can read them!"
Yato was panting heavily. He didn't know how much longer he could take or lengthen this. His energy was depleting fast, and at this rate, it was more than likely that he would get killed by Adachi. It was just Adachi's overconfidence and caution to his bluffs that was preventing him from dying.
"Is this another bluff?" smiled Adachi.
"Why don't you find out?" glared Yato, smiling at the thrill of the fight.
