"Yeah?" They ask as they make their way over to me.
"So, I have a plan on how to get us all out of here. All we need to do is figure out who Caleb's boss is and what his weakness is."
"Oh yeah! That's pretty good! He must have a secret room somewhere in this place where he keeps valuable things." Alex says.
"Okay, so Caleb usually goes out to look for ghosts between 5 and 7. So we have 2 hours to figure this out." Luke says.
"Okay, I saw a stairway over there. So maybe that leads to his room." I say.
"Okay we'll it's only 3:30 so we still have an hour and a half. Let's make a plan first. How about Reggie and I and you and Luke stick together and search the whole upstairs. And if we find something, come meet by the stage." Alex says.
"Okay." Everyone agrees.
We sit at one of the tables until Caleb leaves.
"Okay, detective Reggie activated." Reggie says.
We all look at him weirdly until Alex grabs his arm and we walk up the stairs.
We come to a hallway.
"Okay, Reggie and I will go left, you two go right, check ALL rooms." Alex orders.
Luke and I head to the right and come across a blue door.
We go inside and see a bunch of papers and books.
"Woah. Who is this guy?" I ask rhetorically.
"Must be a pretty book smart guy." Luke replies.
"That was a rhetorical question but... moving on." I say then move to a pile of books.
"Luke, come here. I think I found something."
I show him a picture of Caleb and a slightly shorter, thicker, man in a tuxedo.
"Do you think that this is his boss?" Luke asks.
"Well, it's hard to tell but, it looks like he has an HGC logo on his tux."
Luke leans in closer, brushing against me and nods in agreement.
"We need to find more information about this man. Check the other books." I order.
We search the whole room and go through 6 books altogether.
"Okay, recap. This man's name is Harold Tide, he used to be the manager of the HGC, he died in 1883, born in 1836, and passed his management position down to his nephew, Caleb Covington."
"That must be the reason behind that lyric in Caleb's song." Luke states.
"Yeah, so this man was Caleb's boss, while you three were here during the high school dance and the night of the Orpheum, did you see anyone who looks like him?"
"There was one guy that matches the description and talked with Caleb during Nothing to Lose for about 20 seconds before disappearing."
"Okay, so he's here somewhere, well, maybe not exactly here, but we know he's roaming the streets or possibly this building somewhere." I say, worried.
"Yeah, okay. We should meet at the stage now. It's 6:48, he'll be back any minute now."
Julie and Luke walk back to the stage and find Alex and Reggie leaning on a stage prop.
"Hey, did you guys find anything?" Alex asks.
"Yeah, did you?"
"Yeah, we found out that Caleb uses special potions to put in the guests food and drinks in order to keep them from telling anyone outside the club where they're located."
"Okay, we found out who Caleb's boss is. His name is Harold Tide and he's shorter and a little thicker than Caleb and wears a black and white tuxedo with the HGC symbol on it. Luke said that he saw someone who at least looked like him talking to Caleb the night of the Orpheum during Nothing to Lose." I spit out.
"Oh! Yeah, I saw that guy too." Alex and Reggie both say in unison.
"Okay, so all we need to do is get rid of Caleb's poisons and avoid Caleb's boss." Alex says.
"Okay but let's do that tomorrow, because it's 6:56 and Caleb will be back literally any minute." Luke says and then quickly sits on the ground.
"Dude, there are chairs ya know." I say, laughing.
"I'm gonna sleep, because then he won't bother me."
"I don't know Luke, he put us in electric cages, I don't think he would let you have your beauty sleep. I think it's best if we wait to sleep when we're not in his sight."
"Yeah, you're probably right." Luke says, getting up slowly.
Then we hear the huge doors open.
I am sooo sorry readers!! I've been very busy lately and I write my stories on the spot so I can't just update whenever I want, I have to actually write a whole chapter right there. So here it is, I'm sorry, this is really kind of a boring chapter, but the next one will be action packed to make up for my spaced out updates.
