Readers Pov-  

The heat i felt the moment i set foot in the huge warehouse was no joke. I was walking besides Arthur, and the older man from Eli's birthday was walking with us. As we walked I saw a group of men working on a ship, it looked very similar to the ones the knights would use as cargo boats in my previous life. It was quite easy to figure out who came up with the idea.

Obviously the same person that dragged me here in the first place. "You didn't have to bring me all the way here you know..", i turned to my right to see Arthur mumbling to the older man. I should be the one saying that i thought rolling my eyes. I was not pleased at all being here ,it was hot, i was sweating and i left like dying, thank god i deciding to wear shorts. 

The older man, who i still don't know the name of tried making Arthur aware of exactly where he was," You realize that no one outside from the employees and council is allowed in this facility right?". 

Arthur pulled a glass of water and handed it me as i hummed, " Yes, You've told me eight times already, I'm deeply thankful and impressed", he answered, response filled with sarcasm. I mean i don't blame him, in our previous life he always had to make sure that the making of Army boats and ships was going well, you get bored of seeing the same thing after some time. 

"Well, can you tell that to your face?, because all i see are two unappreciative brats bored out of their minds,  your little girlfriend doesn't seem impressed either". he retorted. I felt my face heat up to the nickname, Arthur turned around facing me sipping his water and winked at me. I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes at him. 

Arthur and I turned around to the man and gave him a blank expression, memories from this morning and the last couple weeks started playing in my head. The loud talking i could hear from across the house 24/7 while i was trying to rest was not nice. " Its hard to be enthusiastic when you've been bothering me over every little step of this project", Arthur said sighing, while i just nodded. 

"so many wasted communication scrolls", i mumbled looking at my feet shaking my head. The older man groaned before whining," i guess all those late night calls didn't make us any closer" he grumbled. I looked at him giving him a confused face, "Make friends your on age old geezer" i retorted rolling my eyes," i was forced to come here to hear an old man complain about not being friends with a 12 year old, how lonely are you?" i snapped at him,..i didn't get enough sleep ok?. 

Both of them looked at me before Arthur started wheezing and the old man looked away glaring at me. "I heard your birthday passed not to long ago, I can't believe its already been four months" i heard the old man trying to start a conversation. He was right tho, Arthurs birthday had just passed. Arthur sighed" yea, its been a blur since Eli's birthday", he was right, i really can't remember a lot since then. 

"well your sisters birthday was quite the extravagant festival, was your party the same?" he asked. "No", Arthur replied drinking water, while i sat besides him just listening. " I asked for a small part with just family", he said. 

The man dug his hand in his pocket looking for something," seeing how much of a social butterfly you were at your sisters party, i'm surprised", he mumbled. " Anyways here..." 

He held out a small box and handed it to Arthur, " Happy late birthday brat". " What is it?" Arthur questioned, while i was just as intrigued. " Just op---". " You didn't even warp it" Arthur grumbled. 

The older man stopped before shouting," you little..give it back!", before he could grabbed it Arthur pulled it quickly," i'm kidding!". 

Arthur handed me his cup before opening the box, in it there was a black bracelet with two pendants on it. " Thanks again for making this for me", Arthur said breaking the silence. "compared to your help on the steam engine, this is nothing".  Arthur was about to slide it on his right wrist before the old man stopped him," Hey i wouldn't do that if i were you, don't want your little girlfriend right there getting mad that you put my present on the same hand as her present", he said sipping his water.
