Enemies to lovers (Bucky x reader)

Pup woke you up three times during the night before Steve knocked on your door at six am. You stretched as you stood up and smiled softly to yourself, the roses still permeating through the room. You opened the door and Steve smiled at you shyly. Without a word, you stepped forward and hugged him tightly, but not too tightly because Pup was still in your arm.
"Thank you for the flowers" you backed up and saw Steve's face was a little red.
"That's all on Bucky. He was just too nervous to go on his own" Steve grinned. "I take it he chose well"
"Very well" you smiled handing over Pup.
"I'm going to get this little guy fed, and some couch time with me for a bit until Vision gets up so I can go for my run" Steve cuddled Pup close who let out a bark.
"Thank you for taking him in the morning Steve" you gave a shy smile.
"He needs to know I'm pack too, right?" he grinned and started walking away. You went back into your room, and saw the wolves were all still fast asleep, taking up most of the bed. You sighed to yourself, and decided to bring the bottles to the kitchen to put in the dishwasher in your pajamas. You struggled a little on your way, carrying nine bottles, but finally made it and put it all in the dishwasher. When making your way back, you heard noises in Bucky's room that sounded odd. Curiosity got the best of you, and you knocked softly on his door. It was a moment before you heard him speak in a raspy voice to come in.

When you walked in his bed looked like it was almost in disarray and Bucky looked worse for wear.
"Are you okay? I heard a strange sound" you bit your bottom lip, staying by the door.
"Nightmare" he barely looked up at you, and you frowned a bit. You knew what those were like, more than most. You padded your way over to him and sat beside him and put your arm around him and cuddled into him.
"Its okay, its over now" you spoke softly rubbing his back and side. "You're safe now". He leaned into you a bit more, and you continued to speak to him softly while rubbing him still.
"Can you just lay with me for a minute?" he finally asked, his voice still raspy.
"Of course, anything for you Bucky" you whispered, and he pulled you close to him and pulled you down onto the bed with him. You curled into his side, putting your head on his chest and putting your arm up so you were touching his chest. You started humming softly one of your favorite love songs to try to relax him, and he quickly seemed to fall back asleep. You knew you should leave, your job was done. You helped him get to sleep again. You curled more into him and pulled the blanket over the both of you and watched him sleep for a bit.

"Pup, where are you?" you could hear Cloud, it woke you up from your partial nap.
"Bucky had a nightmare, is it time for our walk?" you asked him gently through the telepathic link.
"Yes, your mother should be down soon" he sounded pleased. You wrinkled your nose, but decided to keep your promise.
"Bucky" you shook him a little with the one arm on his chest, you didn't necessarily want to move yet. You shook him a little again, then started to get up but he tightened his grip on holding you. "Bucky" you repeated a little louder. You saw his eyes open slowly and he looked down to you and his face broke out into a smile. "Its almost time for our walk" you whispered. "Cloud just woke me up" you admitted. He looked around the room, the remembered the telepathic link and you saw he clued in by the look on his face.
"I'm awake doll, I'll go get dressed" he nodded still smiling. "Thank you for staying with me" he took your hand and kissed the knuckles again.
"My pleasure" you sat up and pulled the blanket back before heading to the balcony door and letting yourself out while you heard Bucky getting up. You turned back to look at him one last time, and he was quick to head to his closet. You went into your bedroom and saw four pairs of eyes on you, and you felt judged.
"He had a nightmare, I just went to check on him" you flushed and headed to your closet and found a pair of longer jean shorts and a pink tank top, so you put a light blue hoodie with it and hurried with your shoes. You ran to the bathroom to use the facilities, wash your face, and brush your teeth.
"We thought you always slept with pack" Jasper teased as you came out.
"He's pack too, I was here most of the night. I was only gone an hour" you admitted while you grabbed your phone.
"We don't blame you, he is handsome for a human" Snow licked Jasper's cheek and nuzzled into him.
"Speaking of Bucky..." Melody got up and scratched at the door since he was standing just outside it, with a grin on his face. He opened the door and she brushed past him before sitting on the balcony and giving a small bark. Cloud, Jasper, and Snow each followed her out and brushed purposely against Bucky as they walked by. You followed and stopped just inches from him and gave a shy smile.
"Mama should be down soon" you bit your bottom lip and you saw him look down at your lips for a moment before going back to look you in the eyes.
"Do you want to go out for a few hours tomorrow, with me?" he seemed nervous asking.
"Where to?" you raised one eyebrow, wondering if he was asking you as a friend or as a date. You wanted it to be a date so badly.
"I thought we could go to the museum, but they wont let the wolves in" he licked his lips nervously.
"Do it" Cloud spoke up first.
"Is it a date?" Melody asked quickly.
"It sounds like a date" Snow added.
"Just the two of us?" you smiled.
"Yes, just us for a change. It can be a date if you are okay with it, or it can just be as friends going..." he started rambling again, and you touched his cheek feeling the butterflies going rampant everywhere.
"I'd love to go on a date with you" you blushed a deep red. "If that's okay with you" you added. "I love spending time with you, and a date sounds like a nice and natural progression for how I've been feeling..." you trailed off as he touched your cheek and smiled looking into your eyes.
"It's a date, and its about time" he whispered. "I should have asked you a long time ago" he added. "Instead of the fighting, I should have just been honest with myself from the start" he flushed.
"I was hiding something..." you started, and he leaned in a bit more and you stopped and gazed in his eyes.
"If I would have asked Wanda, I'm sure she would have told any of us the truth" he brushed his thumb along your cheekbone.
"Well this is progress" you heard Billy, and flushed a deep red.
"He asked her on a date" Melody spoke proudly. "Finally"
"Oh its about time" your mom came around the corner. "I thought I would be in an early grave before you made a move Bucky" your mom smiled at the pair of you and you both stepped apart.
"Where are you taking my daughter?" she asked, starting to lead the way down the stairs.
"Museum" Bucky's face was a bright red from embarrassment. "I forgot the wolves speak to her as well"
"You'll get used to it" you giggled a little bit.
"That's an excellent choice, she loves the museum. Always takes lots of pictures when she goes" your mom nodded to herself.
"Do you mind, if I take her on a date?" Bucky asked as you both hit the bottom of the stairs and looked at her hopefully.
"My dear boy, I've been waiting for you to ask her since I saw the two of you together. I even tried getting poor Timothy to give you a push to ask her. I regret that now" she cleared her throat.
"Humans move slowly in these things" Melody spoke knowledgably. "I've enjoyed watching this unfold"
"You've been pushing for it since you came to the compound" Cloud added in.
"Can you blame me? They would make good mates" she swished her tail at him and you could hear Snow and Jasper almost chuckle. Bucky reached over and took your hand with his flesh hand, and you smiled at him while you both started following the wolves, Billy and your mom through the woods. He would stop at fallen branches and wait for you to step over them to make sure you didn't fall, in case you were listening to the wolves. They were chatterboxes this morning, talking to your mom and Billy but you were focused on Bucky for a change. You squeezed his hand a little, and he squeezed back. As you walked past where the running track was, you could see Sam and Steve were out running together. Steve passing him several times, but Sam would just sass him from what you could hear. It was endearing to watch.
"Don't you normally go for morning runs too?" you looked at Bucky for a moment.
"I wanted to spend the morning with you before I worked on my report" he admitted with a grin. "That punk asked me, but I was hoping you would be okay with me coming"
"I don't mind in the least, we like the company" you smiled at him and continued walking. "Its nice things are getting back to normal around here" you sighed.
"The best part is, you live here now" he whispered and you flushed looking at him.
"That's likely not going to change anytime soon" you admitted.
"I'm counting on it" he licked his lips and gave a grin.

"Good morning Princessa!" Pietro called as you came into the dining room. Bucky let go of your hand, and headed to his seat.
"Good morning Pietro and Peter" you smiled heading around the table to them, and giving them both a kiss on top of the head. "How are my boys?" you asked gently.
"We are almost caught up on school, but we will be coming home as soon as classes are over tonight to work on our reports" Peter updated you. Your mom went and sat beside Peter at the end, while you went between Pietro and Clint. Wanda looked up at you with a smile and let out a tiny squeal, then looked away when she got a few curious looks. You knew she was already in your head and knew about the date.
"Don't overwork yourselves" you reminded them as Clint passed down the food. You filled your plate and passed it to Pietro.
"Are you ready to work on your report? Its going to be revisiting being in that cell again" Scott still had no tact, but you didn't mind.
"I'm looking forward to explaining that you kicked him in the face and knocked him out right in front of me. My only thing is I wish I would have gotten a punch or two in" you gave him a strained smirk. You saw Bucky worriedly look at you, but you gave him a comforting smile instead. You went back to concentrate on your food, trying to focus on one thing at a time. You knew the report was needed, it would be read by the team, but also would be given to Shield as well. You were trying to relax before you delved back into your time in the cell again. You ate quietly, and listened to Jasper and Snow asking Billy questions on how to seem more domesticated. Cloud jumped in and started telling them they would need to learn how to interact with the humans first, then go to leash training. You finished quickly and sat back a little and felt Clint looking at you.
"Did you want some more?" he asked, reaching for the dish.
"No, I'm good" you gave a smile. "Trying to focus"
"You're doing better today, I could tell you were listening to the wolves, but you answered me right away" Clint complimented you.
"Its not as easy as it used to be" you admitted.
"You'll get there" your mom seemed so sure of herself. "You used to do it all the time" she reminded you.
"That's before I had a companion" you admitted. "Since Cloud came in my life, he was always what I listened to first"
"I told you that it wasn't going to be easy once you got your companion your entire life" your mom sighed. "I should have spent more time training you with your abilities"
"Not to worry, we are going to continue working on it with her" Tony gave a smile. "I have a few ideas"
"Did you finish fixing the training room yet?" you gave a smirk.
"In the middle of it. We had to fabricate new tiles based on your power output with Friday. You should be fine with the new room" he chuckled. "It was a bit more expensive this time, but I'm confident in it. Lets be honest, I made it" he shrugged.
"Maybe I can see her use her fire abilities before I leave" your mom smiled. "I saw a glimpse of it from Samuel"
"That's in the field. Its going to be a little different here. Its just her in the room" Bruce warned her.
"I'm putting the defensive protocol in it, to make things interesting" Tony smirked at you. "If it touches you, you'll get a bit of a shock, so you are going to need to work harder in the gym"
"I'm looking forward to it" you giggled a bit. You got up and put your plate in the kitchen and came back seeing the boys were almost done. "Good luck in school today" you said as they both stood up to bring their plates in.
"We will see you for supper Princessa" Pietro gave you a brief hug, then Peter. Pietro then gave Wanda a kiss on the cheek and they ran out the front door.
"Alright, lets get those reports done" Steve stood up and you nodded.
"I'll stay with the wolves in the living room, let me hold onto Pup" your mom looked at you. "We are going to talk a bit more as a pack" she gave you a wink.
"Thank you mama" you went over an gave her a kiss on the cheek and started heading to your room. You heard Bucky get up quickly and follow you.
"Are you going to be okay to write your report?" Bucky whispered to you, and taking your hand as you got to your door.
"I'll be just fine. I'm going to go sit on my swing and write it all out" you gave a small smile.
"If you need me, I'm just going to be next door" he promised. "Just say my name" he added. "I'll hear you"
"I'm going to be playing my music" you warned.
"I'll still hear you" he promised, and kissed your knuckles again while holding your gaze. You couldn't help but smile shyly, but held his gaze. "I'll see you in a bit doll" he gave a wink and you went into your room.
