Enemies to lovers (Bucky x reader)

When the jet landed you were a bundle of nerves. You had closed your eyes for a majority of the flight and meditated listening to the music to bring you back down to earth. You unstrapped yourself quickly, and did the same for Cloud and stood up, trying to keep your focus on all sounds. You didn't hear much for wildlife around as the back hatch opened. You turned off your music and put your phone back in your pocket. Bucky touched your hand gently and looked at you worriedly and you gave a smile leading the way out like you always did. Bucky was close behind you with Clint at the end, and Cloud at your side.
You didn't have to walk too far before you saw the hydra base. It was relatively small in comparison to the one that you were held in. It reminded you of the one that you had saved Melody and Pup in. You climbed up in a tree, and fought another flashback while you took a seat. You started to study the guard detail. They were heavily armed, which worried you. Clint climbed up beside you, and looked at you before putting on his game face.
"What do you see?" he asked.
"The guards are heavily armed. There's not a lot of movement. Inside the windows I saw a few people walking around. Looked like they are wearing lab coats, but its hard to tell with the glare from the sun" you reported.
"Good, what else?" he nodded.
"There's trucks down there that would be sufficient for cover if we have to go in the front door" you pointed.
"There's no wildlife" Cloud added, and you repeated it to Clint.
"Its eerie. There's barely even birds" you added softly.
"Sometimes they can sense evil" Bucky spoke up from under you where he was on the ground with Cloud.
"Keep watching" Clint ordered. You nodded, and continued to watch the guards and the grounds. When the guards finally changed, it took them over five minutes. It gave you enough time to use the front door, but you counted more people on the inside, and that worried you. You could see two guards on the inside as well, and you reported it to Clint and Bucky.
"I thought this was supposed to be a dead base" Bucky looked to Clint.
"Sometimes the data isn't as good as it should be. Its still our target for the day" Clint shook his head. "I'm not crazy over it, but orders are orders. We need the intel"
"It just makes the day more interesting" you decided.
"It's a big enough base we might not see anyone" Bucky whispered.
"That room on the top right hasn't been used once the entire time we've been here. Grapple me in" you looked to Clint.
"I'm not sure about this kid" Clint shook his head.
"I'm going in with her" Bucky spoke up.
"Lets wait for the guards and the three of you take the front door. Cloud is good with keeping an eye out for people" Clint decided. You waited patiently, and saw the guard detail started to move again. You jumped out of the tree and Cloud came to your side immediately. The three of you ran to the front door, while Clint stayed up in the tree to watch your backs. Bucky pulled open the front door and Cloud slid in, in front of you. Bucky came in and grabbed you by the hips pulling you back into him while he took out the first camera. Cloud waited for a moment and sniffed the air.
"Go with Cloud, get the intel. Be safe about it" Bucky reminded you and gave you a kiss on the cheek before he started making his way down to the basement. You nodded and followed Cloud up the stairs silently. You had to stay low to the ground when you saw some of the scientists moving in the rooms. You were looking for a computer, but they looked like they were doing lab experiments and not going to be moving for a while. You needed an empty room.
"Pup, move" Cloud said in your head, but you saw what looked like chains in one of the rooms and froze up. "Pup" Cloud let out a snarl and you looked over in time to see him lunge at a guard and take him out by the throat. Another guard lifted his gun and you jumped into action running at him. He was initially aiming at Cloud, but then turned the gun at you and you heard a shot ring out and felt a pain in your collarbone. Cloud let out a yelp and you felt your body turn on fire and you took the man down. His screams filled your ears as you put your hands around his neck. You heard a flurry of activity and suddenly Bucky was suddenly there using his knives to take out the men that were coming at you. You turned and saw Cloud take out another guard while a fourth one came at you. You lunged yourself at him as well and listened to him as he screamed himself to death and you held him down. You felt a few tears fall down your face as you let the guilt hit you.
"Clint, we are compromised" Bucky was panting behind you.
"Figured that much out when the guards started to run into the building. I took them out. I'm coming in" Clint spoke gently.
"Doll, are you and Cloud okay?" Bucky held out his hand to you. Cloud was limping on his front leg, but it was because your arm was injured. You stood up to your full height and nodded, and put a hand on the bullet wound. He came over and quickly started looking at it. "We need to get back to base"
"I didn't get the data" you shook your head.
"To hell with the data, you're hurt" he growled.
"I'm with him pup" Cloud whined.
"The data first" you pushed past them, and walked into the room where you saw the chains and froze up again. There was fresh blood on the chains and it reminded you of being in the cell and watching the blood drip over the chains when you tried to escape. You felt a hand on your good shoulder and you finally looked over and saw Clint was there.
"Give me the data sticks, get out of here" Clint held out his hand.
"I can do this" you walked to the computer and pulled the data sticks out of your bra and Clint crossed his arms looking at you. You started hacking into the computer, and uploading all of the data that you could. Once one stick was full, you moved to the next one. You went to three computers and took all of the data you could before you stood up again. Bucky and Cloud stood by the door watching, and Clint was looking at you worriedly.
"It was too early to go in the field. You need to go get that taken care of" he held out his hand for the data sticks and you handed them to him.
"I froze up, that's all" you blushed.
"You need time off" Clint growled a bit. "Its too soon" he looked at you and pulled on your good arm. "Didn't Cloud see the guards coming?"
"He did, I didn't" you admitted and he led you to the door.
"Come on doll" Bucky spoke gently and Cloud limped behind you back to the front door. You had to step over several bodies on your way and your body felt like it was jolting while you walked. You tried to close yourself off more, so Cloud didn't feel your pain as much. You broke out into a sweat, but saw as you headed to the jet that he wasn't limping as badly. You saw his fur had a lot of blood in it, but knew it wasn't his and you were thankful for that. You started slowing down as you walked, feeling woozy from losing blood, the front of your suit had a flowing trail, and you could feel it on your back as well. Bucky suddenly picked you up and moved a little faster to get you to the jet. Clint opened the back for the four of you to get on, then closed it up.
"We need to do something with that, she's lost a lot of blood" Clint went to grab the first aid kit. This wasn't the first time you had been injured on a mission, so without thinking you sat down, once you were put on your feet again, and unzipped the top half of your suit and saw Bucky turn a beat red and turned around. Clint came over and helped you pull your injured shoulder out of the catsuit.
"Straight through and through" he looked at it. "We need to put pressure on the wounds" he turned to look at Bucky who was still turned around. "Hey Romeo, I need your help here. Pass me the gauze, and the tape"
Bucky sighed and turned around, with still flushed cheeks and grabbed it from the first aid kit. He seemed to be fighting with himself not to look down, but saw his eyes flick down to take in you in your powder blue bra that was now also soaked in blood. He passed the gauze and tape to Clint, then got in closer to help with first aid. You groaned, and yelled out as they put more pressure on the wound as they tried to get the bleeding to stop.
"Fuck" you finally cried out.
"Hold it together Pup" Cloud jumped up on the seat next to you. "Just think of one of our drives"
"Good, that will stop it for now. Lets get your arm back in the suit" Clint stood back for a moment, and Bucky took the lead in helping you get back in your catsuit. "You mind telling me what happened back there?" Clint asked as Bucky zipped your suit back up.
"I saw chains, and I froze up. Cloud told me to move, and I couldn't. He protected me from one of the guards coming for me. I looked up and saw the other guard about to pull a gun on Cloud and I lunged at him. He shot me, and I fried him to death, the same with the next guard that came for us. I'm sorry" you felt hot tears falling down your face. "Cloud would have been safe if it wasn't for me"
"That's on me. It was too soon to have you in the field" Clint shook his head and went to the pilot chair while Bucky strapped Cloud in, then helped you strap in. You grit your teeth against the belts on your chest. Bucky took the seat next to you and strapped in.
"Turn on your music" Bucky spoke softly. You pulled out your phone and put on your sad songs again.
"Try those love songs you like so much" Clint called back, and you switched the list.

Once you got back to the compound, it was past lunch time. Bucky and Clint led the way back off the tarmac and inside while Cloud was limping beside you, still feeling your pain.
"Come on kid" Clint led you to the med bay and Doctor Cho looked up in surprise. "Gun shot wound" he offered quickly.
"Not another one for you" she sighed heavily. "Its almost like you enjoy getting hurt or something" she joked. "Alright boys, time to leave" she waved them out. Cloud sat down and looked at her indignantly. "Of course you can stay Cloud" she gave a small smile and started helping you out of your catsuit again. She immediately also helped you out of your bra and panties, both of which had blood on them as well. She cleaned the wound, then led you to the regeneration machine and you slid in.
"Music?" she asked you softly, and you nodded. She knew you preferred music when you were healing. She took out your phone and hit play on your Spotify and set the phone down close to you with two hospital gowns.
"Its okay Pup" Cloud finally spoke again. "I know you are worried, but you just need a small break to get back in the game. There's nothing wrong with it"
"You almost got hurt" you looked at him through the glass.
"You had my back, just like I had yours. It's the way we always work. You did good today. You completed your mission. Clint has the data" he licked at the glass.
"I'm just tired" you turned your head away.
"Get some sleep" Cloud sighed. "I'm watching for you"

When you woke up, it was to Doctor Cho opening the lid of the machine for you. You saw Cloud was keeping a watchful eye out still.
"You might want a shower, you got blood everywhere" she gave a sad smile.
"Thanks Doc" you sat up and had to pause for a moment feeling a little woozy.
"You lost a lot of blood, but not enough to warrant giving you a transfusion. Be careful over the next few days, you'll be getting dizzy spells" she warned you.
"I'll keep that in mind" you gave a small smile, and slipped on the two hospital gowns. You grabbed your phone and your soiled clothes and headed for the door.
As you were walking to your room you saw Tony heading towards you with a concerned look on his face.
"Hi Tony" you gave a small smile.
"I'll fix the suit, Clint filled me in on what happened. We are reviewing the data, good job getting it. You need to work on your report after your shower, and then I want you and Cloud in the lab for his report" he told you directly.
"His report?" you repeated.
"Yes, now that I can hear it, I want to know what happened" he looked at Cloud. "Your taking a vacation, you need time. You shouldn't have gone on the mission. That's on me"
"You sound like Clint, I love my missions. I just froze up" you admitted.
"It was too soon for you to be in the field" he shook his head. "I switched up who's going on missions the rest of the week. We wont be working on training until you talk to Sunny" he stepped forward and gave you a hug and stood back quickly. "Stop getting shot, you worry me" he turned around and went back towards his lab.
You stood shocked for a moment, then went into your room and put your clothes in the hamper. You put your phone in to charge, then headed for the shower while Cloud jumped up on the bed.

When you came out you got dressed in a pair of black leggings and a baggy pink t-shirt. You looked outside and saw Bucky was sitting on your swing with his laptop on his lap and was typing away. You grabbed your laptop and left the balcony door open while you joined him.
"All healed up?" he asked quickly as you sat down.
"You know Doc is a miracle worker" you gave a soft smile. "Tony just benched me until I talk to Sunny"
"You need someone to talk to, you went through a lot" he seemed to be holding back. "You scared me today" he added in a whisper.
"I didn't mean to" you whispered back and started to work on your report. You both sat in companionable silence while you both worked on your reports together. You finished before he did, but you noticed he didn't type as quickly as you did. He likely had more to report than you did. You emailed your report to Tony and Steve and closed your laptop. You saw Bucky send his email after a few minutes and he looked at you worriedly.
"I'm fine" you finally sighed.
"Its not like you to freeze up" he turned more on the seat to look at you seriously.
"I saw chains, and it reminded me of that basement" you admitted. "I should have been more focused"
"I agree with Tony, you need to talk to Sunny before you come back to work" he licked his lips before saying that.
"What if it doesn't help?" you whispered.
"He helps, trust me doll. I've had a lot to get off my chest too" he put his arm around you.
"I have to bring Cloud to give his report" you leaned into him for a moment.
"I'll come with you" he gave your cheek a kiss and went to put his laptop back in his room. You stood up and saw it was almost supper time anyways, and put your phone in your bra. You waited for Bucky to come back. When he did, he gave you a smile and held out his hand for you to take before you both went back inside.
"My turn pup?" Cloud asked.
"Yes, I suppose it is" you nodded.
"Good, I have been waiting for this" Cloud jumped off the bed and followed you both to Tonys lab.
