Enemies to lovers (Bucky x reader)

When you got to Tony's lab, Bucky let go of your hand as you walked towards the chair Tony was waiting expectantly beside. He took out the cap and put it on your head. You saw Snow was with all the pups and looking at you curiously.
"You got hurt on the mission" Snow said as soon as you sat down, and you heard it through the speakers.
"Yes, I got shot" you spoke internally but heard your voice come through the speaker.
"We felt it" Snow reported to you. "It was a dull ache, but Melody explained as the bond gets stronger we will feel it more. You need to be careful Y/N, you have a pup you need to mind now too" she reminded you.
"I'm sorry Snow, I didn't mean for anyone else to feel the pain" you continued to use your telepathic powers, but your voice came through clearly. You saw Bucky looking at you with a bit of worry.
"Its okay, just be more careful. You're our human too" she put her head back down with the pups.
"Mama" you heard Blue, and Bucky went to pick him up and brought him to you. He grabbed some of the bottles off of Bruce's desk and handed you one, and went for a few paper towels so he could wipe his face while he ate. You started feeding Blue and he sighed "mama" again, and you smiled down at him softly.
"Cloud, are you ready?" Tony looked at him expectantly.
"Of course I'm ready. I've been waiting for you to do this for a while" Cloud came over and stood beside you. "What do you want to know, pup?"
"Pup? I'm older than you" Tony chuckled.
"Not in dog years. I'm an old man" Cloud sassed him.
"You're not old Cloud" you spoke to him internally, but it came out of the speaker anyways.
"I want to know what happened on the mission" Tony tried not to smile.
"When we got off the jet, it was eerily quiet. There was no wildlife, and barely any birds to speak of. The world felt cold, and uninhabited for good reason. Not the type of place you want to bring your pack. We walked to the base, where Y/N and Clint jumped up into the tree. I laid down in the grass with Bucky at my side. We observed the grounds, and it was full of activity. Not the dead base we were promised. Your data was faulty" he paused to look at Tony who bit his lip a bit. "I suppose even a genius can make a mistake" he continued and Tony rolled his eyes. "We timed the guards, and went though the front door while Clint stayed in the tree to guard the outside. Bucky took out one of those camera's that Y/N says watches everything. Bucky went to the lower floors, while Y/N and I took the upper floor. I heard footsteps and found a good spot to hide, when I told Y/N to move, but she was frozen looking in one of the rooms and looked terrified. She should have listened to us when we said she wasn't ready to be back in the field. I told her to move again, when one of the guards spotted her and he was raising his gun. I went for his throat and killed him. The second guard went to shoot me, when Y/N launched herself at him, engulfed in her flames and she took the gunshot wound. She burned him alive. Two more guards were coming, and I knew her head was back in the game. I took out the closest one, while she burned the second one until he was dead. Bucky meanwhile had come up the stairs and took out the rest of the hydra team that were coming out to attack us. He spoke to Clint through his earpiece who confirmed that he took out the rest of the guards outside and was headed inside. They wanted to leave without the data, but Y/N insisted we get the data. She went into the lab and froze up for a second time. I confirmed there were chains in that room, and fresh blood on them. Whatever they were testing on was long gone and likely long dead. Y/N got the data. We had to walk over many bodies as we left. When we returned to the jet, they gave Y/N the medical attention she needed until we came back to see the doctor that always heals her good as new" Cloud grunted as he finished. "She pushes herself too much sometimes, and she's stubborn. She wasn't ready for a mission after what Shawn put her through, and we all knew it last week even. You should have listened to your gut last week, and not mentioned it just before the mission. Her nightmares have been getting worse, and so has her anxiety. She could barely sleep last night, until she went to sleep with her future mate Bucky"
"Future mate?" Bucky looked at you confused.
"Yes, when you actually mate for life then you are mate" Cloud looked to him. "To us there is only one mate. If your lucky like I am to live this long, you might have a chance at another. But you must be faithful to your mate pup"
"I'm faithful" Bucky flushed and so did you at the same time.
"Then remain that way if you are courting her to be your mate" Cloud sounded grumpy.
"Cloud..." you started, and heard yourself through the speaker again.
"Its okay, he's telling us things we all need to hear" Tony seemed pensive.
"I agree with your idea of a vacation, she needs to get away for a few days" Cloud continued. "Now that she's safe she needs time away"
"Do you know where she needs to go?" Tony asked him with raised eyebrows.
"Of course I do pup, I know what's best for her. We should go visit the hermit again. Its been a few years. Its far enough away and the woods there are healing" Cloud growled. "I know where the mine field is, and so does she. You can train the other wolves while we are gone for a few days. I'll have her back before future mates next date. We need someone to watch Blue" he added.
"Cloud, stop deciding what I'm going to do" you interjected.
"Its what you need" Tony spoke up.
"Its not for someone else to decide what I need" you shook your head.
"Oh please, as your wolves we know what you need" Snow looked up. "You need time right now, I agree with Cloud. I do not know this hermit, but if Cloud trusts him than I say you go"
"I'm fine" you finally spoke out loud.
"You're not fine, we all know that" Bruce interjected as you finished with the last bottle with Blue. "Just the sight of chains made you freeze up. You need to talk to someone. You were in a living nightmare for three days. Sunny cant make it until next week. Taking a few days to see this hermit sounds like a good idea"
"Finally, someone with common sense" Cloud sighed. "I also think you should modify this helmet so that I can talk to the team when we are on missions. There are things I can see that they don't"
"I've been working on an idea for that" Tony admitted.
"Good, because when the other humans get injured I can yell at them when it happens. Sometimes they could have avoided it. Like today for example" Cloud looked at you and you blushed. "I could have alerted the others of the dangers ahead of time"
"It's a good idea, I like it. We could all use a little more sass in our lives" Tony shrugged. "You leave tomorrow morning to go see your uncle" Tony looked at you.
"I wanted to go see him anyways" you shrugged, trying to keep your independence a little.
"I want an address" Tony pulled the cap off of your head.
"Its land co-ordinates" you tried to fix your hair, but Bucky came over and fixed it for you.
"Just in case" he nodded and handed you a piece of paper and a pen. You quickly jotted it down. "Cloud is a sassy one" he whispered to you.
"I know" you grinned. "I like his personality"
"Come on future mate, we need to take out Blue" Bucky grinned at you with a slight flush on his cheeks, and held out his hand.

"That was interesting" Bucky said as you both sat down in the grass with Blue waddling around.
"What was?" you looked at him curiously.
"Cloud" he chuckled.
"He's mad I got hurt again" you admitted gently. "He's not always like that"
"Future mate" he chuckled again.
"They take mates very seriously. Especially Melody" you smiled at him.
"I take it seriously too. It was interesting to hear it from his perspective" he leaned into you more. "It was also interesting to hear the mission report from his side too. I like that he calls out that he sees more than we do. He's right, he probably does. There's a lot of potential there"
"I remember when Sam got a knife wound when we were on a mission together, and Cloud spent most of the flight home yelling at him of what he could have done differently even though he couldn't hear it. I was not about to repeat it because I wasn't putting salt in the wound. Cloud didn't care. He was so mad" you giggled.
"What happened?" Bucky looked at you with interest.
"Cloud and I had gone inside for the data, and when we came out the guards caught us. Sam tried to come give us a hand, but he got sliced on the leg by one of the guards. If he wouldn't have kicked at him, he could have avoided it. He could have jumped back, but he was so focused on helping us..." you trailed off with a smile. "Sam and I normally worked separately on the missions. It was one of the few times we worked together on something. Even if it was taking down the guards, it was nice to have a mission partner besides Cloud. He moves pretty fluidly, I'll give him that. And he's pretty fast" you smiled a little at the memory.
"What mission was that?" he asked gently, putting his arm around you and pulling you closer.
"Eighteen, Clint was with his family on that one too. It was the first one I was with just Sam after mission seven" you admitted. "I think after reading the last mission report he was worried"
"I went through and read all of your mission reports. You and Cloud are one hell of a pair" he kissed you on the side of your head.
"I do believe that's a compliment Sargent Barnes" you smiled at him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Blue waddled up to you and you picked him back up.
"Every chance I get" he smiled at you lovingly. "So, you are going to your uncles for a few days, right?"
"Yeah, Cloud is right, and I have been wanting to see him" you nodded.
"I'm still on missions the rest of the week" he bit his bottom lip. "Promise to be back for Friday?"
"Friday night, I'm all yours" you promised.
"That's the way I like it" he grinned and leaned in to kiss you softly on the lips. You easily kissed him back, reveling in the attention he was giving you. "I'll have to make sure to enjoy tonight as much as possible" he pulled back and you blushed a bit.
"Come on, we have to go for supper" you smiled at him.
"Did I tell you I liked the light blue?" he stood up and gave you a flirty smile.
"Well, those are ruined now, I have to go get new ones" you blushed even more.
"Maybe let me go shopping with you" he winked, pulling you to him.
"That's more for a girls day" you giggled.
"Could be fun for me too" he gave you another soft kiss on the lips. "Come on, lets go eat"
