"You're quiet today" Clint looked at you while you were eating supper. You flushed, realizing you were still thinking about what had happened in the hot tub. The make out sessions were getting hotter, and it was hard to pull back and continue going slowly with Bucky even though that's exactly what he wanted. You wanted more, and the feeling blossoming in your chest were getting more rampant with every thought and interaction with him. He had disclosed so much of himself to you, and vice versa. He didn't seem bothered by your past, and only seemed to be focused on the woman you were today with him. You didn't mind his past, because that's all it was. His past. He had worked hard to become the man he is today. You knew deep in your heart you were falling head over heels for him. You think you started doing that when you first got pup and he asked you if he could feed him is where it started. He had suddenly stopped being this asshole that you had known, and changed into a gentleman that you had always wished he would be. You knew deep down he wouldn't become like that again, not without a good reason, and you had no intention of bringing that out in him.
You liked that he was getting more comfortable with you as well, almost primal in the way that he had wanted you. You had to admit to yourself, you were starting to feel that way towards him as well. You had to be careful, since he is a gentleman, and you didn't want to risk pushing him too far without it being exactly what he wants when it happens. You didn't want any regrets in the relationship. Besides, taking it slow at this point seemed to be the safest. It ensured that neither of you took the next step without having thought it through carefully. You knew that you had thought about it carefully, and if the time came you would be ready for it. You could only imagine the intimacy that you two would share. The biggest problem you both faced, was finding the time to be alone. You felt Clint's eyes on you, and studying you and you gave him a small smile and a subtle nod.
"Want to talk about it kid?" he asked softly.
"Just nervous about Sunny tomorrow" you lied a little, although it wasn't much of one. You were nervous about it, but your thoughts were elsewhere. You glanced to Bucky and saw him looking at you worriedly, but you gave him a reassuring smile. You went back to your food, deep in thought. You thought about how the pack flocked so easily to Bucky, and how honest he was with them even when he couldn't hear their replies. He knew they understood him, and that was all he needed. You thought about how when he teased Sam and Steve he would get that mischievous glint in his eye that always made you want to giggle. You thought about how he seemed so willing to try anything once, even reading your books. You knew it wasn't his type of book, but he took a genuine interest in them because he expressed interest in them. It isn't every day you meet a man that's willing to publicly read what's considered a woman's book. You thought about how he always went out of his way to give you a good morning kiss, no matter who was in the vicinity or in the room. It was like he had one focus in the morning, and that was making sure you knew he still cared about you. While you continued to think about all this, the butterflies in your stomach blossomed, and once in a while you would look up to see Bucky would sometimes look over at you and smile. You loved his smile, how it lit up his face. You loved that his eyes mirrored the color of the sky, and would sometimes darken when he got close to you and would lean in to kiss you. You thought about how he always seems to drop everything for you when you need him, or someone. How every time there was a nightmare, he was there. He would always chase them away for you, and it seemed to natural to be held by him. He always brought so much comfort. You loved the way that he seemed to fit in with your family, and was accepted by them so easily. He treated them with respect, and accepted them for who they were. Meeting a family with different abilities must be odd for normal people, but he seemed to just accept it no matter what. You knew in that moment, you were completely and utterly in love with James Buchanan Barnes, and it was the most natural thing in the world. You looked up to meet his gaze again, and he gave you another smile that made your heart feel lighter. You weren't ready to tell him as much yet, but, you were willing to admit it to yourself. For now, that was enough.
"How about we take the boys their supper tonight? You've had a busy day" Wanda looked over at you knowingly. You flushed, knowing she was just inside of your head.
"That's a great idea, you've been wanting to for a while" Vision smiled lovingly at Wanda.
"We can have tea when I get back. You should sit in the living room" Wanda added with a wink. "Maybe read some more of your book"
"Thank you" you smiled at her easily and went back to concentrate on your food.
"I like this feeling you are having" Melody came around the corner and went to Bucky, putting her muzzle on his lap. "Is it about future mate?"
"Yes" you whispered with your mind.
"I like that there's no more misunderstandings pup. I'm proud of you" Cloud came over and put his paws on your lap so he could lick you on the cheek.
"Are the wolves worried about you too? Listen, kid, we've all been benched before" Tony misunderstood what was going on, but you weren't about to correct him.
"Even me" Steve offered. "Sometimes we don't deal well with missions. There's nothing to be ashamed of"
"That's why Sunny tells me when Tony's been benched, he doesn't always take the break he's supposed to" Pepper leaned over and kissed Tony on the cheek.
"I'm sure tomorrow will go fine" you reassured them.
"How about some pie?" Happy spoke up. "You always make the best pies"
"Sure" you nodded and gave a smile.
"What flavor do you want tonight?" Happy asked, looking at you worriedly.
You looked up and your eyes went to Bucky's. "Apple" you smiled, knowing he loved the apple pie. Bucky smiled at you and looked down with a grin while Happy went into the kitchen to get the pies.
"I'll take my slice and the boys slices to go" Wanda announced quickly. Clint stood up and ruffled your hair and took your dishes into the kitchen to put them away. You felt badly that everyone was reading you wrong. You felt happy with the sudden revelation. You thought about how this love was somewhat like what you had for your companions, the same intensity, but just different. You felt your body was almost full of just love at the moment, and didn't know how to articulate that.
