Enemies to lovers (Bucky x reader)

"That was pretty amazing" Bucky broke the silence as you sat down on the grass with Blue wandering around slightly. "That's how you hear things all the time?" he asked for confirmation.
"Pretty much" you gave a small smile. "The more I concentrate, the louder it gets. Like right now I can hear you just fine, but I'm focused on you and Blue. The more that are in the room, the harder it is"
"It's a miracle you don't get hurt on missions" Bucky sat beside you on the grass.
"I've been hurt a few times when I wasn't concentrating enough" you admitted. "That's why I get so focused now. It was a learning experience. Cloud keeps an ear out for me too, and warns me if there's danger nearby. That helps me a lot"
"I'll have to keep that in mind for our missions this week" he put an arm around you easily and you leaned into him. "They are all supposed to be dead bases, so there isn't too much to worry about" he gave a smile.
"Why are they sending two teams of four then?" you looked at him quickly.
"Just to be safe I guess" he shrugged. "I already talked to Clint, its Cloud and I going in with you. I'll check for hostages while you get the data. You don't need a reminder of what that looks like"
"Are you trying to protect me Sargent Barnes?" you looked at him lovingly.
"Maybe a little" he flushed a bit, and licked his top lip.
"Thank you, you don't have to do that. I know what I signed up for" you sighed leaning over to kiss his cheek. "I finally remembered what you chose for Friday. A picnic and star gazing. I'm looking forward to it"
"I knew you wouldn't completely forget. I figured we could just bring some snacks" he grinned.
"Is it just the two of us?" you batted your eyes at him.
"I was hoping, but I know you like the wolves to be close by" he admitted softly.
"I'll talk to Cloud and the rest of the pack. I'm sure they'll be okay if I go on my own. They know I'm safe with you" you added shyly. Blue finished doing his business and was crawling back up on your legs again and let out a small bark. You picked him up automatically and snuggled him into your chest.
"Come on, its about lunch time" Bucky stood up and held out a hand for you to take to help you up. You gratefully took it and found yourself on your feet within moments. Bucky led the way over to the stairs, and waited for you to go up first.

"I'm so excited to hear how you hear the wolves now, and the pups" Wanda looked at you happily during lunch.
"It was interesting. The human voices are lower, and further away it seems. The more she tried to concentrate, the louder everything got" Bruce smiled. "It was fascinating"
"I can't wait for our pup to talk, so we can hear him too" Pepper smiled happily.
"You should have heard Snow, she has a beautiful voice" Clint smiled and you saw Snow come around the corner to look at him. You knew she would be blushing if she could. "Y/N was right, they sound just like we do. You should have heard Blue and Anastasia, they have the cutest little voices" he continued and you smiled at him with pride.
"I can't wait for you to finish tweaking that" Nat giggled. "I'm so excited, maybe later when she's old enough we can have actual conversations"
"You can, I'll just have to be there I guess" you bit your bottom lip.
"I'm okay with that, I just look forward to bonding with her more" Nat sighed happily.
"You will" you promised her with a smile.
"You ready for weapons training?" Scott looked at you expectantly.
"No, but I will be" you thought about it for a moment. "I'm afraid of stabbing myself in the foot, or putting a knife through Clint by accident" you admitted.
"I'm not worried, I'll be behind you and telling you exactly what to do" Clint promised.
"Want me to join?" Bucky offered.
"No, you'll distract her" Clint chuckled. "You can give her extra lessons later if you want, but after I get my couch time with her tonight"
"Then it will be bedtime" you looked over confused.
"That's your choice. I like hanging out with you, and I know that Nat's joining us tonight when you get back from seeing the boys" Clint grinned.
"I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with the music or documentaries" Nat winked at you, and you knew it was just an excuse to hang out for a bit. You gave a secret smile, and went back to your food. You finished your plate within a few minutes, and went to put it in the sink. You went back to your seat and waited patiently for Clint to finish. He finally sat back and looked at you expectantly.
"Lets go kid" he stood up and you silently followed him.
