My mother always said that for New things to come into our lives we must first let go of some of the old things, so that the new can flourish without chains keeping it down. My brother seemed to have taken that a little too seriously since he left us--well me. He left, and started his new life as a knight in training. Like our mom.
I won't lie and say it didn't hurt when he left. He was my 'safe' space. A person who understood me and knew me. I was 12 and he was 14 when our mother died. So we needed each other. But as time passed and wounds healed--as much as they could heal, he left. He found what made him happy and he went for it.
Meanwhile my 14 year old self was left alone. Transferring to a new school. The only part of my life which my father seemed a part of was my academic one. He let me do what I wanted, Ignored me and pretended I didn't exist as long as my grades were good.As if that is what i wanted.
When I changed schools, I thought it was going to be the most horrendous thing ever. It was quite the opposite really. I found my people. I made friends. I fit in.
This girl, Mina was the 'mom' of our friends group. She was kind caring, and always had our things at hand surprisingly. Then Asher, The 'dad' who reminds me a lot of Iida from My Hero Academia, and what added to it was that Mina and Asher were dating so, no divorced mommy and daddy.
Then Adele, Our sunshine friend. She was kind and smart and caring, a good fighter too. Then there was him.
The most fugly person in the entire world(besides my brother). Gray. He was sooo high and mighty. Always studying such a party pooper really. He always made a comment in everything i said. I would choke him one day. I swear. Not in the hot way! (Just wanna make it clear that I dont really remember what Gray was like in his teens or if they even mentioned it but i thought it would be fun to play it out like this)
"Y/N, If you keep staring at that mirror It's going to break It"
"Grayy!, Stop bullying her!"
"What?, I was just saying!, really it's going to break!"
"Ugh. Your soooooooo funny."
