Barry's eyes go wide with shock at what Lila just told him.

Barry: What?!

Lila: I know how crazy that sounds. But it's the truth, Barry. You've got to believe me!

After a long moment of lingering silence, Barry answers Lila.

Barry: I believe you.

Lila: Y-you do?

Barry: Yes. And I promise I'll look into it, Lila.

Lila: Thank you, Barry.

Barry checks his phone, and sees a notification for a text from Sabrina's father, Lieutenant Roger.

@LieutenantRoger: "If you're not too busy, we could use your assistance. There's an investigation at Tsurugi Industries. I'll fill you in when you arrive."

Lila: What is it?

Barry: It's Lieutenant Roger. He needs me to assist in investigating something going on at Tomoe Tsurugi's company. I gotta go.

Lila: Okay. See you later, Barry.

Barry: See you, Lila.

As Barry enters the courtyard, he texts Lieutenant Roger back.

@BarryAllen: "I'm still at school. I'll have to see if they'll excuse it."

Another text appears in just a few seconds.

@LieutenantRoger: "Not to worry. I've notified Principal Damocles. He gave you his permission to leave."

Barry responds almost immediately.

@BarryAllen: "I'll be there as soon as I can."

He puts his phone in his pocket, and heads towards the exit. Sabrina catches up with him.

Sabrina: Barry, there you are.

Barry: Sorry, Sabrina. Can't talk right now. But, what I need you to do is find out everything you can about Tsurugi Industries, and its connection to Gabriel's brand.

Sabrina, surprised by Barry's request, nods understandingly.

Sabrina: Oh, uh. Okay, Barry.

Barry: I'll check back with you this evening.

He exits the school.

Sabrina: Wait, Barry! Where are you-?

(BringRingRingRing!)

Before she could say anything else, the bell rings for class to resume. And Sabrina heads back to class.

(WHOOSH!)

At Tsurugi Industries, Barry rushes up to the tech firm. Making sure nobody saw him, before taking out his forensics kit, and entering the lab.

Barry approaches Lieutenant Roger.

Roger: Ah, Barry. Glad you could make it.

Barry: Sorry for the delay, Lieutenant. I got caught by the traffic light. What's the situation?

Roger: Well, another piece of technology was reported stolen from Ms. Tsurugi's research lab, and there's two security guards found dead.

Barry: Any witnesses, or evidence?

Roger: Yes, one of them said that he saw a streak of red, and then the device was gone. Sounds oddly familiar, don't you think?

Barry turns to the Lieutenant.

Barry: Are you suggesting The Flash robbed this tech company, sir?

Roger: Well, he does wear red. And our witness said that he saw a streak of red, before the device in question was stolen.

Just then, Tomoe Tsurugi enters the lab.

Tomoe: Well, whatever this thief is, they're most likely the ones that also stole my Particle Transitioner. And I am desperate to get my technology back before it falls into the wrong hands.

Barry: Don't worry, Ms. Tsurugi. We'll find the party responsible for these thefts.

The blind woman turns her head to the source of the voice.

Tsurugi: Who is that?

Barry My name is Barry Allen. I'm a forensics consultant for this case.

Tomoe Ah, I see. So you're this Barry, my daughter told me about.
A pleasure to meet you, dear boy.

Barry is surprised, as he shakes hands with her.

Barry: So, you've heard about me?

Tomoe: Yes, she's told me about how you've been investigating the murder of Marinette's mother.

Barry: Yes, I've been trying to get justice for Marinette's father. Especially considering how I went through a similar incident.

Tomoe: Indeed, a horrible tragedy to befall the Dupain-Cheng's.
It's quite a shame. Their bakery sold some of my favorite spring rolls.

Barry: Duly noted. But let's get down to business.

He puts on his isotoner gloves, opens his metal briefcase, and picks up a miniature flashlight.

Now, he examines the corpse of one of the security guards.
One of the official forensic scientists takes photos of the crime scene.

Barry: It appears that his neck was snapped. The blood splatter and trajectory of the remains indicate a high-speed collision.

He takes DNA samples with the Q-tips.

Barry: However, given the space of the lab, whatever hit them would've had to have been moving fast. Like, superhuman-level fast.

Roger: So this was The Flash's doing?

Barry: No, because if you look at the control panel for the vault.

He holds up the Particle Scanner, and inspects the control panel.

Barry: You'll find traces of negative tachyonic particles lingering on the circuitry.

Lieutenant Roger is completely baffled at this point.

Roger: I'm sorry, but what on earth are tachyonic particles?

Tomoe speaks up, before Barry could answer.

Tomoe: A particle that moves faster than light.

Barry: Exactly. And I've studied every single crime scene where Flash battled a supervillain. And at every single one, there's never been traces of negative tachyonic particles. Only regular tachyons.

Roger: Okay, I'm lost. So, you're saying that whoever attacked Tsurugi Industries, harnesses negative energy, and is a speedster?

Barry: Exactly.

He continues studying the bodies, while thinking to himself.

*Barry: "But why on earth would Reverse Flash be trying to steal from Tsurugi Industries? What could he be up to?"

He inspects the vault and finds a tracking device.
He turns back to Tomoe Tsurugi.

Barry: Beg pardon, Tsurugi-san. But what exactly were you keeping in this vault?

Tomoe: It was an experimental power core. It was designed to produce a renewable energy source, for months at a time, without needing to be replaced.

Barry: I see, and do you happen to keep a record of your projects?

Tomoe: Of course. Come with me.

Barry: Right behind you.

She leads Barry to the Tsurugi Industries archives.
