Barry puts away his notepad.
Gabriel: Okay. What is your objective, Mr. Allen?
Barry: I know your nephew was here recently and that he stole some rather incriminating evidence from you, Mr. Agreste. He obviously wanted something out of you if he was willing to blackmail you.
Gabriel says nothing and just furls his brow.
Barry: I want to know what you're hiding from the rest of this city and from your own son.
Gabriel: You're an awfully persistent young man, Mr. Allen. And a foolish one, to boot.
Barry: Don't patronize me. I won't be manipulated like one of your pawns, “Hawk Moth.”
Gabriel's eye begins subtly twitching.
Barry: And unlike your other adversaries, like Ladybug and Cat Noir. I can bring you down without breaking a single law, Mr. Agreste. One phone call to the right people. And I can have Adrien removed from your custody and Nathalie's. I can prove that you and Nathalie are responsible for all the chaos and destruction that's plagued this city.
Gabriel's face twitches into a menacing snarl.
(WAH-BANG!)
He slams his fists down onto the table as he stands up, looming over the blonde teenager. Barry, however, remains unfazed by Gabriel's attempt at intimation.
Barry: If you're trying to intimidate me, it's not working.
Gabriel: I assure you. I am nothing like your usual adversaries, “Flash.” Andre Bourgeois may be the mayor. But I am, without a doubt, the most powerful man in all of Paris! Be it as myself or my alternative identity.
And you have the audacity to enter my house and challenge my authority?! My influence over this city?!Barry silently narrows his eyes in defiance. Before responding to Gabriel's outburst.
Barry: You're goddamn right, I do. Because I know why you're trying to obtain the Miraculouses. So you can bring your wife back and recreate the world in your image! And I don't care if you know my secret identity, or try to akumatize me. If you plan on harming the innocent people of this city or my friends, I will make sure you pay for it.
Gabriel: You clearly don't know who you're dealing with, Mr. Allen.
Let me explain something to you. Life is like fashion: You think you have a choice, but all you have is the illusion of choice. And I decide what choices are given to you.Barry balls up his fist, in a quiet anger.
Gabriel: You see, Mr. Allen. Fashion is a product, a marketing strategy, and an industry that relies on an uninterrupted trend renewal. One that forces you to either throw away everything you have and replace it, or worse, be out of fashion.
Multiple images of Gabriel's brand and advertising appear behind him.
Gabriel: Thanks to the styles I create, the celebrities who wear my clothes, and the advertisements I design. I create an idealistic vision, a perfection that everyone strives to achieve. While keeping it just out of their grasp. That is my vision for the world.
Gabriel studies Barry's stern expression while he continues his monologue.
Gabriel: You finally understand it, don't you? You listen to people and give them what they think they want. Whereas I create people's desires! They decide what I want them to, and they think what I want them to think! And as Hawk Moth, I simply give the ones who are forgotten, a chance to be reborn. To be reinvented, renewed, into what they hope to become, but shall never be. And all I ask in return are the keys to my greatest desire, my sole purpose in life. And I refuse to let anyone, anyone, prevent that dream from becoming reality!
Barry still remains unfazed.
Gabriel: This world's problems are not your own, I'm sure there are those on your Earth who miss you dearly and wish for your safe return. You don't owe these people, or this world, anything.
Gabriel: Which is I'm offering you this choice: Either you can leave this world, and go home. Or you will suffer the consequences for your interference. And that choice begins the moment you leave this mansion.
Barry: (Sighs) Very well, I'll leave. Thank you for your time, Mr. Agreste.
Gabriel watches as Barry gets up from the table and heads to the door. But as Barry reaches it, he turns around to face Gabriel once more and approaches the supervillain as he speaks.
Barry: Before I leave, I want you to know this. Whatever you're up to, whoever you're working with, and whatever it is, you're planning.
I can assure you, you won't get away with it! Not as long as I'm around! And trust me, that's not a threat. That's your only warning!Barry exits the Atelier, with Gabriel watching after him in utter disbelief.
Now, Barry reaches the Agreste Mansion courtyard, Barry walks up to the exit and turns to see Gabriel glaring at him from the window. He points his first two fingers to his own eyes before pointing them towards Gabriel and exiting through the front gate. Leaving a rather furious Gabriel behind, his nostrils flaring with outrage.
Gabriel: (Furious growling)
