Soulmates
*** This story begins after Anubhav's proposal to Haseena where instead of Anubhav leaving, the engagement takes place. ***
Anubhav had just proposed to Haseena and she had said yes. Unfortunately, Anubhav had to leave for Delhi for a meeting. He looked at Haseena, touching her shoulders. Their eyes melted in to each other.
"Haseena Ji" he said. Haseena's heart crumbled in to pieces. "Main wapas aaoonga. Mere liye intezaar karo.
Haseena smiled, her ecstasy running all over the place.
"Jab pyaar ki guarantee hoti hai,
To intezaar karne ka koi wajah nahi hoti,
Kyuki dil jaanta hai ki usse kya chahiye,
Aur ki pyaar wapas aayega,
Apne ghar. Jahan uska haq hai."Haseena heard a loud noise echoing "oooooo" that's when she remembered that her team at MPT was still listening to their conversation. Haseena motioned for Anubhav to stay silent and answered the phone.
"Kya tumhe kaam nahi hai?" Haseena asked, her tone a mask of stern formality. She could barely keep her composure. She ended the call without waiting for their reply. Anubhav laughed, the gleam returning to his eyes.
Haseena replied with one of her poems, her heart beating with each line. Anubhav hugged her again, a little tighter than last time as if fearing that he'll lose her again. Haseena warmed in his embrace, letting go of all her walls. For the first time, she felt as if she was Haseena and not madam sir.
The pair was oblivious to the passing of time until Anubhav pulled Haseena rather painfully.
"Haseena Ji, mujhe jaana hai." he said pointing at the airport, his voice arching of a longing.
"Oh" Haseena said, her mouth pouting. "Main intezaar karunga."
Anubhav held his gaze at her before finally withdrawing and leaving to catch his flight. His heart skipped in each beat, echoing of his happiness. A brief doubt lingered on his heart that resonated with each thud of his boots.
I have hurt Haseena so much in the past. I'm not even suitable to ask for her forgiveness but she did. She accepted him. That was how great of a person Haseena was. He admired her. He respected her. That was why he had fallen in love with her. But he knew that in his line of work, love was a dangerous thing. It can make you vulnerable. It can be your instability. His step faltered his heart waning. No, he growled. No matter what happens, I'll not hurt Haseena this time. He was sure of it.
Haseena watched the retreating figure of Anubhav before leaving. Her emotions were in a state of a whirlwind swirling around her. She decided to take the long route back to MPT. She had a lot to ponder.
Haseena knew that she had forgiven Anubhav for what he did a long time ago. She loved him too much to not forgive him. But she also knew that the wounds still remained, a pestering thorn in her side, always reminding her of what happened. How her trust was broken. How her heart was used and exploited by Anubhav. She smacked the wheel in frustration. Had she made the right decision? Her love was true and she had no doubt in Anubhav's love but..... She decided to not ponder on the negatives. If such a situation arises she'll deal with it then. There was no use worrying about the future now.
As she let her worries swindle, her heart was captured by happiness. She was swooning and in love. She couldn't believe that her fairytale wedding was finally supposed to happen. She excitedly planned ahead for her future, keeping in line with her vision. She parked the vehicle in front of MPT and silently let out a groan. She would now have to endure the taunts of her team members.
