The Bonds of Love

***This episode starts after SS receives her transfer letter. The MPT team gets together to give SS a final farewell as she leaves the MPT. ***

SS stared at the orange envelope in her hand, her fingers trembling to hold its contents. She knew what the letter was. She had no mind to open it, especially not here at her own home with her family. Her heart sank in despair. She knew that she'd have to tell her family the truth eventually. She pocketed the letter and headed out for a date with Cheetah.

SS and Cheetah went out after a long time. They were both working overnight at the MPT and had no time for themselves. Today, they decided to take a small leave and have some fun. They were walking along the moonlit streets, hands woven around each other. The frosty air chilled SS that she had goosebumps. Cheetah moved closer to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder, giving her the warmth. SS sank into his hand, melting at his love for her.

Each step reverberated loudly in SS's mind. She had made the decision to inform Cheetah first but how could she? They both loved each other a lot. How could she leave her family?

Along the walk, Cheetah kept glancing at her. He knew that there was something troubling her but he didn't want to pressure her into talking. He walked, edging himself closer to her, letting her know that he'll always be there for her.

They settled down on a wooden bench. The night sky was littered with stars, bright enough to break the darkness of the night. The stars had merged all around them as if they had been presented with their own orb of planetarium. It was beautiful. Cheetah glanced all around, uprooting his neck to the point that he groaned in pain, gazing at the beauty.

SS had other things in her mind. She was seated with her knees clasped tight together, her hands drawn together as if she was praying. She was staring at the ground, gulping down each breath. She could hear her heart beat, each echo thumping loudly in her ears. The cold of the night did nothing to calm her down. It made her more restless. Unbeknownst to her, her eyes moistened.

"Santu...." Cheetah called breaking her reverie. He moved near her and bending down to see her face, took her hand in his. "Are you okay? What happened?"

SS was dumbfounded. She caressed Cheetah's hand contemplating her decision.

Would it be right to leave the MPT, after everything? They meant a lot to her. It wasn't a team. It was her family. She had found the love of her life too. How could she leave them? Was she being selfish? She wondered. Her mind grazed at the envelope still nestled in her pocket. It was a transfer letter to the Cyber Crimes division. SS had always dreamed of working there. In fact, as a little girl it was her only dream but now that it was a reality, she didn't want to take the next step. She didn't want to let go of everything she built, everything she had made and the relationships that meant everything to her. SS was caught in a debilitating storm, both within herself and her family at MPT.

She tucked the letter out of her pocket and lightly grazed it with her thumb. Cheetah, eyebrows raised asked "What's this Santuu...?"

She finally looked at him, his words breaking her defenses.

"Cheetah...." She began, her voice, a light whimper. "I've got a transfer....to the Cyber Crimes...."

Cheetah couldn't believe what he heard, catching only snippets. He heard the two distinct words of transfer and cyber-crimes. He was conflicted. He knew that SS wanted to train at the Cyber Crimes Department and he was proud of her too. But he knew that it also meant that she'd be leaving the MPT and....him.

Cheetah released his hand and cupped her face. "This....is great news Santuuuuu...."

Cheetah broke down from the inside, his heart a broken shell of gnawing pain. He was happy, he was ecstatic for SS but he also didn't want to hold her back. She deserved this transfer and....He trailed off, tears breaking into hives all over his face.
