Scene: Phenex Manor – Family Discussion
The ornate halls of the Phenex manor were eerily quiet. The tension from the earlier meeting with Sirzechs Lucifer lingered in the air. Lord and Lady Phenex sat in the grand parlor, their expressions tight as they awaited the arrival of their children. The earlier exchange with the Devil King had rattled them, but it also made their ambitions burn brighter.
Moments later, the heavy doors opened, and Riser Phenex strolled in, his usual smugness somewhat diminished. Behind him came Ravel, her sharp eyes taking in the tension in the room. She quickly realized this wasn't a simple family discussion.
Riser: "I assume this is about that so-called 'human' again?"
His tone was bitter, his bruised pride evident. Ravel rolled her eyes, already annoyed by her brother's inability to let go of his defeat.
Ravel: "It doesn't take a genius to figure that out, Riser. But if this is about Y/n, I'd appreciate it if you kept your outbursts to a minimum this time."
Riser glared at his sister but said nothing as he slumped into a chair. Lord Phenex cleared his throat, his gaze sharp as he addressed his children.
Lord Phenex: "Indeed, this is about Y/n. We just finished speaking with Lord Lucifer, and his words only confirmed what we suspected—this boy is far more dangerous than we initially thought."
Riser leaned forward, his fists clenching.
Riser: "Dangerous? He's a damn nuisance! And what did Sirzechs even say? That I was right to want him gone?"
Lady Phenex sighed, her patience wearing thin.
Lady Phenex: "Quite the opposite, Riser. Lord Lucifer made it very clear that Y/n is not to be underestimated. If anything, he suggested we approach him with caution and... respect."
Riser's eyes widened, his face twisting with disbelief.
Riser: "Respect?! For a human?!"
Ravel: "If you keep shouting, you'll miss the point entirely."
Her icy tone cut through the room, silencing Riser once again. She turned to her parents, her expression thoughtful.
Ravel: "So, what's the plan? Clearly, you've decided he's worth something to us, or we wouldn't be having this conversation."
Lord Phenex nodded, his expression serious.
Lord Phenex: "Precisely. This Y/n... he's a unique anomaly. Not only did he humiliate your brother, but he even managed to leave Lord Lucifer with injuries. That kind of power cannot be ignored."
Ravel frowned, her mind racing.
Ravel: "You're suggesting we ally with him."
Lady Phenex: "Not ally, dear. Recruit. Y/n could be a powerful tool for the Phenex family. With his strength under our banner, no one in the underworld would dare challenge us."
Ravel tilted her head, skepticism evident in her gaze.
Ravel: "And what makes you think someone like him would willingly work with us? If his actions so far are any indication, he doesn't care for politics or alliances."
Lord Phenex: "That's why we need to tread carefully. Riser's... misstep has already complicated matters."
Riser scowled but remained silent.
Lady Phenex: "Which is why we need you, Ravel. You've always been the more level-headed of our children. If anyone can understand what makes him tick, it's you."
Ravel crossed her arms, her expression guarded.
Ravel: "You want me to manipulate him."
Lord Phenex: "Manipulation is such a harsh word. We want you to build rapport, to understand his motives. Once we know what drives him, we can guide him toward our cause."
Ravel sighed, her fingers drumming against her armrest.
Ravel: "And what if he sees through it? Someone like Y/n isn't just powerful—he's perceptive. If he realizes we're trying to use him, it could backfire spectacularly."
Lady Phenex smiled faintly, her tone calm but cold.
Lady Phenex: "That's a risk we're willing to take. But we trust your judgment, Ravel. Handle this carefully, and you'll bring honor to the Phenex name."
Riser scoffed, finally speaking up.
Riser: "Honor? You're acting like we need his approval to restore our reputation. I could—"
Ravel: "You could do nothing, Riser. You've already proven that."
Her blunt words silenced her brother once again, his flames flickering angrily around his hands. Lord Phenex raised a hand, his tone stern.
Lord Phenex: "Enough. Ravel, you'll handle this discreetly. Riser, you'll stay out of it. We can't afford any more missteps."
Ravel nodded, though unease lingered in her gaze.
Ravel: "I'll do what I can. But don't expect him to fall in line easily."
Lady Phenex: "We wouldn't expect anything less. Just remember, every great achievement comes with risk. This is no different."
As the meeting concluded, Ravel excused herself, her mind already turning over the challenge ahead. Riser remained behind, glaring at the table as his parents dismissed him with a wave.
Ravel's Thoughts – Private Chambers
In the quiet of her room, Ravel sat at her desk, reviewing everything she knew about Y/n. The reports were sparse, but they painted a picture of someone who was both powerful and unpredictable.
Ravel (thinking): What drives someone like you? Are you really human, or something else entirely?
Her gaze lingered on a sketch of Y/n—an artist's attempt at capturing his intense, otherworldly aura.
Ravel (thinking): If my parents think they can control you, they're fools. But maybe... maybe there's a way to meet you on equal ground.
She leaned back in her chair, her sharp mind already formulating a plan.
Ravel (thinking): Whatever you are, Y/n, you've piqued my curiosity. Let's see what secrets you're hiding.
