Rogue Whispers"
Scene: ORC Clubroom, Afternoon
The clubroom buzzed with quiet energy as the members of the Occult Research Club went about their usual business. Issei was perched on the couch, grumbling about his latest humiliation at Y/n's hands. Asia sat beside him, nervously trying to comfort him while Koneko munched on her ever-present snacks. Rias stood near the desk, flipping through documents, her crimson eyes occasionally darting toward the door.
Y/n had promised to stop by today, though knowing him, that promise was tenuous at best.
Rias: (Exasperated) "Issei, stop sulking. You'll only make things worse for yourself if you keep letting him get under your skin."
Issei: (Throwing his hands up) "Easy for you to say, Buchou! He didn't use you as a human baseball last time!"
Koneko: (Flatly) "You lost. Again."
Issei: (Turning red) "KONEKO!"
Before the argument could escalate, the door swung open, and Y/n strolled in like he owned the place. His crimson eyes scanned the room, a sly grin playing on his lips as he sauntered over to the couch and plopped down next to Issei.
Y/n: (Grinning) "Miss me, perv?"
Issei: (Glaring) "Like a hole in the head."
Y/n: (Mockingly) "Aww, don't be like that. You're my favorite punching bag."
Rias: (Clearing her throat) "Y/n, I'd appreciate it if you could refrain from antagonizing my peerage for at least one afternoon."
Y/n: (Feigning innocence) "Antagonizing? Me? Rias, I'm hurt. I thought I was a beacon of joy in this dreary little club."
Kiba: (Softly) "You're a beacon of something, alright."
Y/n chuckled, clearly enjoying the banter. But as he leaned back against the couch, something in his demeanor shifted. His grin faltered for just a moment, his gaze growing distant.
Akeno: (Noticing the change) "Something on your mind, Y/n?"
Y/n: (Snapping out of it) "Hm? Nah, just bored out of my mind. Thought you guys might have something fun going on, but I guess it's business as usual."
Rias exchanged a glance with Akeno before addressing him.
Rias: (Carefully) "Actually, we've been hearing some... unsettling rumors. Activity around Kuoh has been increasing lately—fallen angels, stray devils, even whispers of something bigger."
Y/n: (Feigning disinterest) "Sounds like your problem, not mine."
Kiba: (Sharply) "If it involves Kokabiel, it'll be everyone's problem."
The room fell silent. Y/n's expression darkened, his playful facade slipping just enough to reveal the glint of sharp intelligence lurking beneath.
Y/n: (Slowly) "Kokabiel, huh? Now that's a name I haven't heard in a while."
Rias: (Frowning) "You know him?"
Y/n's expression shifted, the faintest flicker of annoyance crossing his features. He leaned back into the couch, crossing his arms, crimson eyes staring off into space.
Y/n: (Smirking faintly) "Something like that."
Flashback: A Meeting of Wings and Fangs
Scene: A Hidden Mountain Retreat, a few weeks ago.
The air was thin, the peaks cloaked in a cold mist that made the area feel otherworldly. Y/n stood at the edge of a jagged cliff, crimson eyes scanning the horizon as he waited, hands in his pockets. He hadn't been here for long, but the isolation of the place already gnawed at his patience.
