Chapter 30: Shadows of the Hero Faction

Start from the beginning

"You've heard of us, haven't you?" Cao Cao asked, his voice calm but carrying an edge of menace. "The Hero Faction. Champions of humanity."

To his left stood a towering man with muscles that looked as though they had been carved from stone. Heracles, the faction's brute force, carried a massive spiked club that seemed absurdly oversized, even for someone of his stature. His armor was minimal, allowing him to move freely despite his size, and his bare arms were crisscrossed with scars, each one a testament to battles fought and won. With a booming laugh, he swung his club onto his shoulder, the impact sending cracks through the earth beneath him.

"I hope you devils are ready for a real fight!" Heracles roared, his deep voice echoing across the battlefield. "I've been itching to test my strength against something tougher than humans!"

To Cao Cao's right, a woman stood with a predatory gleam in her eyes. Jeanne d'Arc, the faction's tactician and swordswoman, exuded a confident, almost smug aura as she unsheathed her gleaming rapier. Her silvery armor shimmered in the sunlight, its intricate design more befitting a knight than a fighter in a modern battlefield. Jeanne's long blonde hair flowed like liquid gold, and her piercing blue eyes never stopped moving, analyzing every potential threat.

"So, these are the devils who've caused such a stir," she said, her voice tinged with disdain. "They don't look like much."

Behind Jeanne stood Georg, the faction's mage, cloaked in flowing robes adorned with arcane symbols. His face was obscured by a dark hood, but his eyes, glowing faintly with magical energy, were visible beneath it. A staff taller than himself rested in his hands, its tip crowned with a glowing crystal that pulsed with raw power. His demeanor was calm and calculated, the air around him crackling faintly as he began channeling spells.

"Let's not be hasty, Jeanne," Georg said, his voice deep and deliberate. "Some of these devils might surprise us. It would be a shame to underestimate them."

Looming near the back was a lanky figure with an unsettling aura. Leonardo, the faction's summoner, barely spoke, his expression a mix of boredom and disinterest. His pale skin and dark, unkempt hair gave him the appearance of someone who hadn't seen the sun in years. He wore a simple black coat that hung loosely on his wiry frame, and his hands glowed faintly as shadowy creatures stirred in the air around him.

"We'll see how long they last," Leonardo muttered, his voice barely audible as his eyes flicked across the battlefield.

Finally, standing apart from the others, almost as if she didn't fully belong, was Siegfried, a swordsman clad in sleek black armor. Multiple swords hung at his side, each one humming with energy. His silver hair and sharp eyes gave him an almost regal appearance, but there was an undeniable ruthlessness in his every movement. Siegfried's grip tightened around the hilt of one of his swords as he watched the ORC prepare for battle.

"No need to drag this out," Siegfried said, his voice cold and devoid of emotion. "Let's finish this quickly."

Cao Cao raised a hand, silencing the group with a single gesture. "Patience," he said, his eyes locking onto Rias. "Let's see what the Gremory heiress and her servants are truly capable of."

(I know I left out the pendragon siblings but don't worry I'm not completely thick I'm just planning on introducing them later on.)

The members of the ORC felt the weight of the Hero Faction's presence, each of their opponents radiating a unique and overwhelming aura. Rias stepped forward, her crimson hair fluttering in the wind as her magic surged to life.

"Listen carefully," she said, her voice steady but firm. "These aren't ordinary humans. Be cautious, but don't hold back. We fight as a team."

"Yes, President!" Kiba said, his swords gleaming as he assumed a defensive stance.

"I've got your back, Rias," Akeno added, her signature sadistic smile masking her own tension.

Koneko cracked her knuckles, her stoic expression unchanging. "I'll handle the big one."

"Boosted Gear!" Issei shouted, his gauntlet flaring to life. "Let's show these guys what devils can do!"

The battlefield erupted into chaos as the two groups clashed, each member of the ORC facing off against a member of the Hero Faction.

As the battle raged on, a familiar voice cut through the din.

"You know, you'd think you guys would learn to send me an invite. I hate missing the fun."

All eyes turned to see Y/N standing casually atop a nearby tree, his hands in his pockets and an amused smirk on his face. His crimson eyes peering just over his void like glasses, swept across the battlefield, lingering momentarily on each member of the Hero Faction before settling on Cao Cao.

"And you must be the leader," Y/N said, his tone laced with mockery. "Nice spear. Overcompensating for something?"

Cao Cao's smirk faltered for a brief moment before returning. "And who are you supposed to be?"

Y/N leapt from the tree, landing gracefully in the middle of the battlefield. "Just a guy passing through. Thought I'd help these devils even the odds."

"You think you can stand against the Hero Faction?" Jeanne asked, stepping forward with her rapier poised.

Y/N tilted his head, his smirk widening. "Guess we'll find out."

The battlefield shifted once more as Y/N joined the fray, his unpredictable fighting style throwing the Hero Faction into disarray. His movements were fluid and precise, each strike landing with devastating accuracy.

"Who is this guy?" Heracles growled, his club shattering the ground as Y/N effortlessly dodged.

Cao Cao watched the battle intently, his eyes narrowing as he observed Y/N. "Interesting. He's not like the others."

As the tide began to turn, Cao Cao raised his hand, signaling a retreat. The Hero Faction vanished into the shadows, leaving behind a battlefield littered with destruction.

"This isn't over," Cao Cao said, his voice echoing as he disappeared.

Y/N dusted off his hands, his smirk never fading. "Well, that was fun. Let me know if you guys need me to bail you out again."

Rias watched him closely, her mind racing with questions. Who is he, really? And why does he fight like someone who's seen a thousand battles?

For now, those answers would have to wait.
