Truth, Dares & Tangled Hearts

---
Hotel Rooftop – 10:00 PM

Fairy lights. Portable speakers. Slight chill in the air. Grill sizzling. Four idiots and a bottle of fizzy drinks that may or may not be virgin.

“Technically, this is a barbecue,” Abhishek said, flipping the paneer tikka.

“Technically,” Aashna said, “this is four emotionally unstable people pretending they know how to adult.”

“Speak for yourself,” Rihi said, sipping her cola with a suspiciously limey aftertaste.

Shubman raised his cup. “To bad decisions that brought us together.”

They all clinked.

---

Thirty Minutes and Slight Tipsiness Later

“Okay, okay,” Aashna grinned. “Truth or Dare. It’s time.”

Abhishek narrowed his eyes. “This game ends in tears every time.”

“Exactly,” she winked.

They sat in a circle on beanbags, under dim lights and open skies.

“Rihi, your turn,” Aashna said. “Truth or dare?”

Rihi thought for a second. “Truth.”

“Too safe,” Shubman mumbled.

Aashna smirked. “Fine. Here’s your truth — that day on Marine Drive… did you plan to give him the bracelet? Or was it spontaneous?”

Everyone leaned in.

Rihi blinked, looked at Shubman, then admitted, “I bought it a month ago. I was just waiting for the guts.”

Shubman grinned like he’d won a trophy.

Aashna howled. “SIMP ALERT!”

“Okay, okay, next—Shubman!” Rihi grinned. “Truth or dare?”

“Dare,” he said without hesitation.

“Send Abhishek a voice note calling him Bhaiya in the most sanskaari way possible.”

Abhishek choked on his drink.

Shubman grinned and did it instantly.

> “Namaste Bhaiya. Ashirwad dijiye. Aapka chhota bhai, Shubman.”

Aashna laughed so hard she snorted. “He’s never recovering from this.”

---

Round Two – Things Get Real

“Abhishek,” Rihi turned, “Truth or dare?”

“Truth,” he said cautiously.

“Do you love her?”

A beat.

Everyone froze.

Aashna blinked, mid-sip.

Abhishek didn’t flinch. “Yes.”

No hesitation. No jokes.

“Yes,” he repeated, eyes on Aashna.

And she… smiled.

No drama. No big declarations.

Just soft, silent knowing.

Shubman clapped. “Okay, now we’re in a Dharma movie.”

---

Rain Returns – But Just A Drizzle

They dragged their beanbags under the terrace shed, the rain adding its own percussion to the playlist now playing low in the background.

Aashna looked at Rihi. “Your dress moment was iconic.”

“Stop.”

“I’m serious. I recorded it. From three angles.”

Shubman laughed. “You’re building a wedding montage already?”

“No wedding talk,” Rihi warned, pointing a chip at him.

“Fine,” he said, leaning closer. “But if I asked you to wear a dress again... would you?”

She grinned. “Only if you run again.”

Abhishek looked at Aashna. “Will you wear one too?”

She rolled her eyes. “Only if you survive another pushup challenge.”

“You’re on.”

---

Last Dare of the Night

“Okay, okay,” Rihi said, sleepy-eyed and full of too many marshmallows. “Aashna. Final dare.”

Aashna raised a brow. “Make it good.”

“Kiss him.”

Everyone gasped like they were in a Sooraj Barjatya climax.

Aashna turned to Abhishek, smirking. “You ready?”

He nodded, sitting straighter.

She leaned in… and kissed him on the forehead.

“Wholesome,” Shubman whispered.

“But brutal,” Abhishek added, pretending to pout.

“Earn the cheek first,” she teased, standing up and stretching. “Forehead’s level one.”

---

Final Scene – Midnight

The rooftop had quieted. Lights dimmed. The group half-asleep on beanbags, snuggled in shawls.

Shubman had his arm around Rihi, both watching the clouds move across the moon.

“I like drunk you,” she murmured.

“I’m not drunk.”

“Emotionally, you are.”

He nodded. “On you.”

She groaned. “Lame.”

“You love it.”

Aashna, from somewhere across the roof, sleep-mumbled, “You two are insufferable.”

Abhishek chuckled. “And yet, perfect.”
