"Beg For Forgiveness"---
The cold Sunday morning in Drass Base was painted with a strange kind of stillness.
No drills.
No shouting.
No engines roaring.Just a haunting, biting wind — and two boys weighed down by guilt heavier than the mountains surrounding them.
For Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, Sunday wasn’t a day off.
It was Doomsday.
---
Shubman sat at the edge of his cot, elbows on his knees, staring blankly at the ground. His normally confident, boyish face was tired, hollow.
Beside him, Abhishek leaned against the cold metal frame of the bed, rubbing his temples, looking decades older than his 29 years.
Neither spoke.
Words had long abandoned them.
Guilt screamed louder.
Pain clutched tighter.
And they both knew why.
They hadn't just hurt Rihi and Aashna.
They had broken them.
---
Abhishek had spent months being distant with Aashna — the same girl who once used to light up when she saw him, who used to wait hours just to hear his voice.
Instead, he had been spotted across Mumbai and Delhi with his "rumoured girlfriend" — smiling for cameras, letting the tabloids feast.
Every photo, every rumour, had carved wounds deeper into Aashna's young heart.
She was just 21 — trying to hold onto the man she loved who seemed to be slipping away with every sunrise. And Shubman?
He had done worse.
In one heated, ugly moment, he had snapped at Rihi — pointing out her deepest insecurities.
Telling her she wasn't "enough", that she wasn't "perfect" the way she thought she was.
She was 24, trying to love him with all the fierce tenderness inside her — and he had crushed her with a few cruel words thrown like knives. They had broken their girls.
Now they were the ones shattered. And today... they had decided to fix it.
Or die trying.
---
Clutching the doorknob with clammy hands, they pushed open the door to Rihi’s quarters.
The world stopped.
---
Aashna sat on the couch — leaning close, too close, to Veer.
Their heads were bent together over a phone, laughter tumbling between them like something easy, natural, intimate.Abhishek’s heart slammed against his ribs so hard it hurt.
His blood boiled, rage and heartbreak crashing through him like twin storms. His Aashna.
Laughing with someone else. And then — worse — she brushed her fingers against Veer's arm, smiling.
Smiling.
---
Meanwhile, from the corner of his eye, Shubman caught sight of the kitchen.
Rihi stood at the counter — laughing, laughing with Mrityunjay.
They were making breakfast — laughing, playfully touching, brushing flour off each other’s faces like a goddamn rom-com movie.
And that was when something inside Shubman cracked wide open.
