. “Before Sunrise”

Night in Drass was a different kind of dark—silent, star-scattered, and thick with thoughts left unspoken.

The base was quiet, save for the occasional distant rumble of an aircraft or a guard's boots crunching on snow. Inside their quarters, warm lights glowed softly, casting long shadows and the scent of lingering dinner.

Rihi entered first, her gait calm but weary, the chill of night still in her boots. Behind her, Aashna followed, removing her gloves and tossing them on the table.

"They leave tomorrow morning," Aashna said without looking at Rihi, her voice neutral.

Rihi nodded, her throat tightening slightly. “We should... talk to them.”

Both girls stood for a second, unmoving. Then they split without another word—Aashna turning toward her room, Rihi toward hers.

---

Rihi & Shubman – Her Room

Shubman stood near the window, arms folded, dressed in a simple hoodie, staring into the snowy night like it held answers.

He turned when the door opened, his eyes meeting Rihi’s.

“Hey,” he said quietly.

“Hey,” she replied, closing the door behind her.

For a moment, neither spoke. Then Rihi walked forward, slowly, until she stood in front of him. She looked up into the eyes that had once made her 16-year-old heart race—and still did.

“I forgive you,” she said simply.

Shubman blinked, stunned. “You... you mean that?”

“I do,” she whispered. “Not because I forgot what happened. But because I’ve grown since then. And I know you have too.”

Tears threatened, but she kept her voice steady.

“Our love won’t be like the movies, Shubman. I won’t be cheering you from the stands every match. Sometimes, I’ll be deep in the mountains or on night patrol. I won’t always be there. But if you’re okay with that... then I’m yours.”

Shubman stepped forward, gently pulling her into his arms, burying his face in her shoulder.

“I don’t need you in the stands, Rihi,” he murmured. “I just need you in my life.”

---

Aashna & Abhishek – Her Room

Abhishek was sitting on the edge of the bed, eyes fixed on the floor, hands clasped. The door creaked, and he looked up.

Aashna leaned against the frame, arms crossed. “You cried in Veer’s arms, you know.”

Abhishek flushed. “I thought—!”

“I know,” she interrupted, a small smile playing on her lips. “He showed me the video.”

He groaned and buried his face in his hands.

Aashna crossed the room and sat beside him. “I forgive you, Abhishek.”

His head jerked up, disbelief written all over his face.

“But listen to me,” she continued. “I’m not a trophy girlfriend. I won’t fly in for every series. I’ll be flying jets, running drills, risking my life too. You need to be okay with not always being the center of my world.”

“I am,” he said without hesitation. “I’ll earn every second you give me, Aash. I promise.”

She took his hand in hers.

“We’re not normal. We’re not perfect. But we’re worth the effort.”

Abhishek smiled, eyes shining. “You always were my hero. I’m just glad I get another chance to be yours.”

Later That Night

Rihi and Shubman sat by the window, wrapped in a blanket, sipping hot coffee. In the other room, Aashna lay beside Abhishek, their fingers intertwined as the heater hummed softly.

Outside, snowfall began—silent, soft, and pure.

The boys would leave in a few hours, but tonight... tonight was theirs.

And this time, there were no unsaid words.
