Scene: GOA – LATE AFTERNOON – 5:42 PM
Clouds had swallowed the sun. Wind howled like it had something to say. The beach emptied, vendors pulling tarps over stalls, tourists scattering with umbrellas.

But Rihi didn’t move.

She stood at the edge of the water, arms wrapped around herself, rain slowly soaking through her kurti. Hair plastered to her face. Eyes wild.

Behind her—footsteps.

“Rihi,” Shubman called out.

She didn’t turn. “Don’t.”

He stopped a few steps behind. “You’ll get sick.”

“You think I care right now?”

Silence.

She finally turned, eyes locked on him, fierce and wet and breaking. “Why are you pulling away again?”

He froze. “I’m not—”

“Yes, you are. You’re retreating. Acting like last night was some beautiful accident.”

“It wasn’t an accident,” he snapped.

“Then what was it? A mistake?”

“No.”

“Then say it, Shubman,” she dared. “Say what it meant.”

The sky thundered above them.

He stepped closer. Jaw tight. “You think I don’t want to scream how I feel? You think I don’t ache to tell you everything?”

“Then do it!”

His hands were clenched. Rain poured down between them.

“I’m terrified, Rihi,” he said, voice low but breaking. “You’re young. I’m older. You have all these dreams and chaos and fire in you. And I’m just a man who’s trying to protect the one thing that finally feels real.”

She was shaking now—part cold, part anger, part heartbreak.

“I don’t need you to protect me,” she said. “I need you to choose me.”

He looked at her, rain sliding down his face like it carried years of fear with it.

Then—

“I do.”

One step. Two. His hand found hers, fingers trembling.

“I choose you. Every damn time. Even when I’m scared. Even when it’s hard.”

Her breath caught.

“I love you, Rihi,” he whispered. “I’ve been trying not to. Failing, every second.”

And she crashed into him.

The kiss was nothing like the first.

This one was messy. Wet. Desperate.

Fingers tangled in soaked shirts. Lips seeking all the words they didn’t know how to say.

When they pulled apart, foreheads pressed together, eyes closed—

Rihi whispered, “You’re not just pages.”

He smiled. “And you’re not just poetry. You’re the whole damn story.”

Scene Shift – A Few Hours Later – Back at the Hotel

Aashna and Abhishek looked up as the two entered—soaked, silent, hand-in-hand.

Aashna raised a brow. “Y’all get caught in the rain or in your feelings?”

Rihi smirked, squeezing Shubman’s hand. “Both.”

Group Chat Pops Up

> Abhishek: Sooo Rihu and Shubu are official?
Aashna: I knew it. Rain = bollywood confessions.
Shubman: Mind your business
Rihi: …But yes.
