She had been scrolling when she saw something.

Virat Kohli's Instagram Story: "Practice day before the storm" - a boomerang of the Indian team stretching in nets.

Her heart began thudding.

She didn't know why she did it. But she opened her phone and dialed a number she hadn't in a year.

Abhishek Sharma.

It rang. And to her shock, he picked up.

"Aashna...?" His voice cracked.

"Come outside," she said quietly. "I'm standing outside Wankhede. I need to go in."

There was silence.

Then, "Give me five minutes."

He came out in ten.

His face had changed. Sharper jawline. Darker eyes. But his eyes widened when he saw her.

He stepped forward instinctively to hug her.

She stepped back.

"I need access. I want to go in. I know fans aren't allowed. Use your pass."

He paused but nodded.

Moments later, they walked past security. The guards gave curious glances, but Abhishek's ID worked. No one asked questions.

And then, she stepped in.

Wankhede was quiet. Empty. Breathtaking.

The Indian team was in practice mode-nets on one side, fielding drills on the other.

She saw them one by one:

Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli. Shubman Gill. Shreyas Iyer. Suryakumar Yadav. Hardik Pandya. Jadeja. Bumrah. Siraj. Shami. Ishan.

And there. In the nets.

Shubman Gill.

She walked straight to him.

He didn't notice at first.

Then he did.

He stopped mid-shot, removed his helmet, wiping his sweat, and looked at her confused.

"Aashna...?" he murmured.

She didn't respond.

Instead-she grabbed his collar.

And slapped him. Hard.

The sound echoed across the stadium.

Players paused. Security stirred. But Abhishek raised his hand, stopping them.

Rohit, Virat, Ishan, and Shreyas came forward.

Virat looked at Abhishek. "What the hell's going on?"

"Let her speak," Abhishek muttered, eyes fixed on the two.

Aashna's voice broke.

"You ruined her," she hissed at Shubman. "You destroyed my sister."

He blinked. "What...?"

"She's been missing for a year! ONE YEAR. And you? You're out here getting ENGAGED? Taking Sara to parties? Living your damn dream while we-while my family-hasn't smiled in months?"

Shubman froze.

"Missing?" he whispered. "Rihi... she's missing?"

"Yes," she screamed. "And it's YOUR fault. You broke her. With your words. You said things she couldn't come back from. You said things that KILLED her inside. And then you walked away. Six months later you were smiling in tabloids. Holding hands. Wearing suits. Getting f***ing rings on your finger."

Virat and Rohit looked at each other. Shreyas's mouth hung open.
Ishan slapped his hand on his mouth shocked.

"She didn't even say goodbye," Aashna continued. "Just left your hoodie. A bracelet she bought for you. A note. And disappeared."

She threw the hoodie in his face.

"And you... you just moved on?"

Shubman looked broken. His bat slipped from his hands.

He tried to speak-but she slapped him again.

Abhishek stepped forward.

"Aashna-"

She turned to him.

And laughed.

A bitter, hollow sound.

"You too," she said. "You walked away. I called you once. You didn't call back. You held hands with your rumoured girlfriend while I cried every night. Don't even try to explain. Don't insult me."

Abhishek opened his mouth but she stepped back.

"You both lost her," she whispered. "And you both lost me too."

She turned and walked away.

Abhishek stared after her.

Then walked over to Shubman.

And pushed him.

"Because of you," he growled, "I lost Rihi-who was like my sister. And then Aashna-who I loved."

He stepped back.

And left.

Shubman stood alone, hoodie at his feet, guilt crashing over him like a tidal wave.

For the first time in a long time, the Indian team wasn't looking at the nets.

They were watching the storm Shubman had created.

And no one said a word.
