Kurai smiled "well that's just how it is I find it to be well suited for someone like me besides I think your just over exaggerating a bit sensei after all I did manage to block your attack," he said with a smirk.

"That so then...let's see you block this!" she screamed making Kurai wince, but he didn't have time to worry about his ear drums because at the next moment he felt something hard smack his head causing him to get knocked out "ha not so tough now aye hotshot!" were the last words Kurai heard.

-timeskip after the battle-

When Kurai awoke again it wasn't pleasant at all his head ached a lot because of the way Kushina had knocked him out. He notices that Naruko was tied up to the stump while both he and the Uchiha were leaning against the log with the boxes of bentos that he had cooked.

"I am guessing the two of you didn't grab a bell from Kakashi or Kushina sensei?" he asked making Sasuke his head with a grunt "no! Kakashi-nii was just too damn fast dattebayo not to mention the fact that he kept messing up our plans whenever we did get close to getting a bell," Naruko yelled with clear frustration.

"Ah finally awake I see," came the voice of Kakashi with Kushina standing right beside him "I thought it would take you two awhile to recover but this is good either way because now we can tell you your results," he continued.

The three of them awaited with anticipation "well I honestly can't believe I am about to say this but here it is...YOU ALL FAIL!!" Kushina declared causing all three of them to wince.

"Sasuke, you and Naruko were so obsessed with getting the bells from us that you completely left Kurai out of the loop you just abandoned him like he was nothing!" Kakashi shouted before turning to Kurai.

"Kurai I'll admit that you did at least try to work with them and even, tried to steal a bell for your teammates but not once did you ever think to communicate with your team you just gave up instead. Which is honestly the worse part because Konoha ninja do not give up they persevere despite all the odds against them," he continued.

Kushina took over for Kakashi as she began to lecture Naruko next "I am even more disappointed in you though Naruko-chan," she began only to get cut off by Sasuke "hey that's not fair of you to say at all Kushina-sensei she tried her best just like the two of us."

"It's not because of that Sasuke-kun yes she did give her best in terms of combat I'll acknowledge that, but she knew everything about this test down to the last detail.

She was only informed to not tell any of you the true meaning behind the test hence my disappointed because despite knowing what the test was about, she still failed to deliver," she explained in a cold tone that didn't suit her usual character.

"What!" Sasuke exclaimed turning to Naruko with wide eyes while Kurai only closed his eyes 'I guess she really didn't want to work with me I get it now though there's no way Konoha would allow for a two man squad the true meaning behind this test was teamwork' he deduced while trying to block the hurt that he was feeling.

Naruko remained silent her face was lowered to the point where you could only see her bangs Sasuke turned his disappointed gaze away from her "so what was the true point of this test then?" he questioned.

Kakashi crossed his arms together "the answer was teamwork, the bell test was designed in this way to see whether you could set your differences aside and work together in order to complete the mission," he explained like it was the simplest thing in the world.

"However, the three of you failed to accomplish that which is why were failing you," Kushina continued which made both Kurai and Sasuke flinch while Naruko trembled.

"...Despite this though we'll give you guys one more chance Kurai you and Sasuke can eat the bentos you cooked while Naruko gets nothing if you two even think about feeding her then you all fail," Kakashi said as the two of them vanished with a poof.

Awkward silence remained soon after Sasuke and Kurai ate but he kept taking the occasional glance back at Naruko who remained silent "here you need to eat Naruko," Kurai said raising a chopstick full of rice.

"Y-you idiot! Stop or you'll fail us all!" she exclaimed only for Sasuke to shut her up "just be quite you dumb clown we need you to be at full strength so that you don't hold us back!" he exclaimed.

With that Kurai began feeding her his golden eyes locked onto her blue eyes which held a hidden emotion...was it perhaps guilt that she felt?

"YOU THREE!!" came the combined shouts of Kakashi and Kushina which made them close their eyes on reflex "...pass," they said in their normal tones.
