Edward Stark POVI grit my teeth seeing the army of Morgan marching their way up to Camelot I glanced back over my shoulder noticing the looks of despair upon the other knight's faces.
There was no one to lead us our King is dead and Sir Gawain as well I thought with a slight clench of my fist.
If there is no one to lead, then...I will damn it!
Drawing in a deep breath I spurred my weary steed forward, turning to face the two hundred knights who remained. Their faces were pale, their armor battered, and their hands clenched around their weapons like men grasping for their last thread of hope.
"If we are to die today, then let it be with our blades in hand and our backs unbroken!" I bellowed, my voice cutting through the rising tension "Camelot may fall today but its spirit will not! If we cannot be the victors, then let us be the storm that breaks upon our enemies so that they remember this day with terror in their hearts!"
A murmur rippled through the knights, uncertain at first, but then I saw it the spark. That defiant ember of a warrior's pride the unwillingness to simply lay down and accept fate.
"Would you rather be hunted down like dogs cowering in the ruins of our kingdom?" I pointed my sword toward the approaching army the sheer number of them turning the horizon black. "Or will you stand proud as knights of Camelot one last time? Will you ride with me?"
A roar erupted from the men, the sound of steel being drawn echoing like the death knell of a kingdom refusing to fade into nothing.
"For Camelot!" I cried, raising my sword high.
"For Camelot!" they answered, their voices unshaken.
With that we swung ourselves onto our horses riding out the castle to meet the army I reached down to my pouch grabbing the war horn and raised it to my lips taking a deep breath, and blew.
The deep thunderous sound rolled across the battlefield like the roar of a waking dragon causing both armies to a halt.
I sped up just a bit ahead gazing at the opposing army with a resigned yet defiant look before turning back to address the knights who waited to hear what I had to say.
"Arise riders of Camelot! Spears shall be shaken! Shields shall be splintered! It will be a sword day! A red day! ERE THE SUN RISES!" I yelled out as the front line extended their spears out forth.
I rode down the line letting my sword gently tap the tip of their weapons "Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride for ruin! AND THE WORLD'S ENDING! DEATHHHHH!!!" I screamed out not even caring about the fact that I was ripping off a line from the LOTR series these men needed motivation.
The knights in return roared "DEATHHHH!!!" again I repeated "DEATHHHH!!!" this time I pointed my sword forth towards the armies of Morgan "FORTH NOW KNIGHTS OF CAMELOT!!!" I shouted as they raised their own war horns.
With that we slowly marched forth at a slow pace that soon accelerated into a fast charge "Archer's fire!" one of the enemy knights shouted as a volley of arrows came towards us.
"RAGHHHHHHHH!!!!!" I screamed raising my sword high the frost spreading from the hilt down the steel like veins of living ice. With a single slash through the air a wall of frost erupted before us jagged and crystalline, shattering the first wave of arrows mid-flight. The ones that made it through clattered harmlessly against our raised shields the knights of Camelot pressing forward without hesitation.
The battlefield trembled beneath the thunder of our charge.
The enemy braced themselves their front lines locking shields, spears bristling like the fangs of a great beast waiting to devour us whole.
