Tyler's POV ~
Josh just texted me saying he was having an anxiety attack. I raised my hand. "Yes Tyler?" the teacher asked. "Can I go to the bathroom please?... It's an emergency." the teacher nodded "yea go."
I quickly ran out of the classroom ignoring the few stares I got for leaving so fast and ran down the hall to the bathroom.
When I walked in I could hear Josh's quick uneven shaky breaths and I ran to the stall he was in "Josh? It's me. I'm here." within the same second the door flew open and Josh wrapped his arms around me I almost fell over. He was shaking and tears where sliding down his cheeks as he gripped to me like his life depended on it.
I slowly lowered us to the ground and rubbed his back. "Shh it's okay. Your okay. I'm here. I got you. Breathe."
He took in a sharp breath before letting it out and continuing shaking.
"Breathe with me okay?" he nodded
"Okay.... In" I counted to 5 in my head. "Out" I counted to 5 again. I repeated this until he was no longer shaking and his grip loosened. He pulled away and wiped his eyes.
"Are you okay?" I asked while moving a piece of his hair out of his face. "Yeah... I think so." his voiced cracked.
"Thank you for coming." he said while we both stood up."your welcome."
He pulled me in for another hug. We just stood there in each others arms until the bell rang.We had band now. Josh sighed and let go of me. "I don't want to go to next class.... I want to go home and sleep." he said with a frown. "And I want you to come... But mom will be mad if I skip again." he looked at the ground.
"We have this class together... I can see if the teacher will let us go to the library or something.""Please." he said and we made our way to the band room. Once there I walked up to the teacher with Josh following behind me.
"Excuse me sir?" I said while leaning slightly on his desk. He looked up from what he was doing "yes Tyler?" I looked back at Josh quickly. He still looked pretty uneasy. "Would it be okay if me and Josh were to go to the library for this class?"
The teacher looked behind me to Josh before speaking. "Why do you want to?" I looked at Josh to see if it was okay if I told the teacher what happened and he nodded for me to do so. I lowered my tone so only the teacher and Josh could hear me. "Josh just had an anxiety attack and he still needs some time to calm down."
The teacher looked sympathetically at Josh. "Yes that's fine. Let me write you boys a note then you can go okay?"
I nodded. "Thank you sir." he finished writing the note and handed it to me.Me and Josh walked out of the room and Josh grabbed my hand. He rested his head on my shoulder as we walked.
When we got to the library we gave the librarian the note and went to sit on one of the couches. Josh laid his head on my lap and closed his eyes. He was clearly exhausted and me waking him up last night probably isn't helping.
I gently ran my hand through his hair and watched him contently like I was this morning. I woke up before him and instead of getting up to get ready I just sat there admiring every detail of him.
A few minutes passed and Josh's breathing had evened out and the occasional soft snore could be heard.
I'm going to let him sleep to the bell.. He needs it. I went on my phone to pass the time. I just scrolled through Twitter and Instagram.
After a while I got bored of my phone and started to think of ways to tell my parents about me being gay and about Josh. Before I knew it the bell rang snapping me out of my thoughts.
I really didn't want to wake up Josh but we had to go to our next class. Josh had math and I had history.
I gently shake his shoulder. "Joshie? The bell just rang we gotta go to 3rd period." he made a soft noise of disagreement. "I don't want to.""I know... I didn't want to wake you but I don't know if your math teacher and my history teacher will let us stay here." I said playing with his hair again. "I know. " he sighed slowly sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
I walked him to his next class then went to mine. It was only a few minutes into class when I felt my phone buzz.
Josh: ):
Me: what?
Josh: I'm tired
Me: go to sleep
Josh: what if the teacher catches me
Me: right....
I guess it wouldn't hurt to skip lunch and the rest of the day after.
Me: do you think you can wait till the end of this class?
Josh: I can try
Me: okay I'll meet you at your class after this period and we'll go... My house or your house?
Josh: okay... Um I don't know.
Me: how about my house we can watch movies or something.
Josh: okay... Thanks Ty.
Me: your welcome Joshie
The rest of class seemed to take forever. But eventually the bell rang and I made my way to Josh's class.
I waited by the door watching kids come out of the class but I didn't see Josh. I frowned and walked over to the door, looking inside. Josh sat at his desk with his head in his arms.
Before I entered the room I knocked on the door. The teacher looked up from his desk to me. "Can I help you Mr. Joseph?" I nodded "can I grab Josh please?" he looked over to see Josh still sitting in his class, asleep. "Yea go ahead." he sighed.
I walked over to him and crouched down. Shaking his shoulder again I quietly told him to wake up. "Josh.. Come on lets get you out of here."
He slowly lifted his head and got up.I put my hand on his lower back and guided him out of the classroom and out to my car. I opened the passenger side door and he crawled in. I close it after and run around to the other side of the car and got in myself.
I was about to pull out of the parking lot when I realized Josh wasn't buckled. "Josh buckle up please." he looked at me with an eyebrow raised. "Huh?" I gave him a soft smile. "Seatbelt" he nodded and put it on.
Once we got to my house I took Josh up to my room and he laid down on my bed while I put a movie on. After a movie was on I walked over to Josh he was already asleep. I smiled to myself and crawled in bed next to him and taking a nap as well.
