I intently listened to Iruka as he was listing off the names of people and their assigned team number.
"Team seven will be... Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha and.... (Y/n) (L/n)."
What a coincidence that we all happened to be sitting in the same row. I was glad that I had Naruto on my team, but as for the other two, I can't say.
Someone who I had history with is on my team and we aren't necessarily on good terms, so I'm not sure how that will play out for us.
"Iruka Sensei, why does a great ninja like me have to be in the same group with a slug like Sasuke!" Exclaimed Naruto who rose from his seat.
"Sasuke had the highest score while you had the worst. I wanted to create a balance between the team."
Naruto deadpanned when hearing that and sat back down.
"Just stay out of my way loser," muttered Sasuke which irked Naruto. He formed a fist and wanted to fight him right here, but I pulled him back down.
"Just ignore what he said," I whispered to him.
"After lunch you'll be meeting your Jonin teacher."

I peacefully finished eating my lunch and decided to head back inside since there was nothing else to do outside. Naruto had gone off to find Sakura and Sasuke left without a word. From a distance, I spotted Sasuke and Sakura talking so I hid behind a tree to avoid running into them and ruining their conversation.
"Naruto just picks fights with you. You know why he's so annoying? Because he wasn't raised right. He doesn't have a mother or father, no one to teach him right from wrong. Think about it, he just does whatever comes to his mind. He's selfish and bratty and all alone."
I became angered by Sakura's words and wanted to fire something back at her. She's clueless about us and doesn't know what it's like to be in our shoes. She hasn't experienced our loneliness.
"Alone, isolated, it's not about your parents scolding you. You have no idea what it means to be alone," sharply said Sasuke who walked away from her.
I decided to leave after that, so I quitely jumped up to the tree and headed towards the academy.
Naruto, Sasuke, and I all share each other's pain. We're alone in this chaotic world with the lingering feeling of loneliness that we come home to everyday.

While waiting for our sensei to arrive, Naruto became impatient and decided to play a prank on our new sensei. Naruto placed a chalkboard eraser ontop of the door and was eagerly awaiting for our Sensei's arrival.
"He's a Jōnin, an elite, he won't fall for something like that," retorted Sasuke while Sakura eagerly agreed with him but at the same time I saw a gleam of excitement in her eyes hoping that the prank would work.
We heard the sound of the door sliding open and saw as the eraser bounced off a tall man's gravity defying grey hair. He wore a blue mask that covered almost the entirety of his face except for one eye.
"Haha I got him! He totally fell for it!" Laughed Naruto while Sakura tried apologizing to our new sensei for his antic. Sasuke and I simply sat back and watched the scene.
"My first impression of you guys is...you're a bunch of idiots."
'What a great first impression.'

"Alright why don't you introduce yourselves one at a time," said our Sensei whose name was Kakashi Hatake.
"What should we say?" Asked Naruto wanting to know what specifically he should say.
"Things you like, things you hate, hobbies or dreams for the future."
Naruto asked our Sensei to introduce himself as an example, but he ended up giving us a vague introduction which consisted of learning pretty much nothing from him. Kakashi Sensei pointed a finger at Naruto to start off the introductions first.
"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I like instant ramen in a cup and I really like the ramen Iruka Sensei got me at the Ichiraku ramen shop but I hate the three minutes you have to wait after you pour the water into the ramen cup. My hobbies are eating different kinds of ramen and comparing them. And my future dream is to be the greatest hokage, then the whole village will stop disrespecting me and start treating me like I'm somebody, somebody important," he ended with a proud smile.
Kakashi Sensei then looked at me with his one visible eye indicating that it was my turn.
"I'm (Y/n) (L/n). Things I like are [things you like] and I hate [things you hate]. My hobbies are [your hobbies]. My dream is to become the strongest kunoichi in the village that way I'll be able to protect my friends and..to confront the ones who were responsible for my clan's death." My voice turned deadly at the end which made everyone silently stare at me.
Sakura introduced herself after me but all I mostly heard was squeling since all her answers were directed towards Sasuke except for when she expressed her dislike which was aimed at Naruto.
"Okay last one," replied Kakashi while staring at Sasuke.
"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things and I don't particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan and destroy a certain someone."
The atmosphere grew thick and tense after his last statement and I already had an idea who that person was.
Kakashi Sensei broke the tension by mentioning a survival exercise we'd be doing tomorrow.
"Of the 27 graduates that came here only nine will be accepted as genin. The other 18 will be sent back to the academy, in other words, this is a pass or fail test and the chances you'll fail is at least 66%."
We were all stunned at hearing that, but we had to pass somehow.
"Be at the designated training area at 5 a.m, oh and skip breakfast or you'll puke." And with that he ended up disappearing while Sasuke and Sakura went their separate ways except for Naruto and I.
We peacefully walked to Ichirakus and ordered our usual ramen. It was our celebration for being placed on the same team together. We stayed there for about an hour before we decided to head home.
I still find it amusing that when the Third Hokage made preparations for my living arrangements here at the village, I didn't expect I'd be living next door to Naruto. I didn't bother to check who my neighbor was when I arrived because I had the Uchihas, but now I'm glad that I have him nearby.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning, goodnight Naruto."
"Goodnight (Y/n)."
With one last glance and smile, I walked into my home and started making my way to bed. I had to sleep early if I wanted to wake up on time.
Until tomorrow they'll see how hard I've been training.
