The Forest of Chakra

Naruto noticed your slow steady breathing and knew you had fallen asleep. He examined your sleeping face and carefully moved the strands of hair that were on your face but even while you slept he thought you looked beautiful.

He lied back down next to you as he felt fatigue envelope him while slowly closing his eyes falling asleep next to the one he cares about.

*Timeskip*

You were awoken to bright sunlight that was shining down on your face. You scrunched your face while rubbing your eyes so you'd be fully awake. You saw that you were still outside until you remembered what happened last night.

You noticed Naruto was still sound asleep but while you were looking at him you heard footsteps approaching. You saw what appeared to be a woman carrying a basket and gathering herbs. The 'woman' approached you so you greeted 'her' and introduced yourself. You felt Naruto beginning to wake up and saw that someone else was with you.

"So are you both ninja because I've noticed that headband you're wearing," 'she' asked.

"Yea we're training and trying to develop our skills to get stronger," you said while Naruto nodded and added on," And I want to become the best ninja in the village that way everyone will know who I am and respect me. Also there's a certain someone that I have to prove something too."

You certainly knew who he was referring to while letting out a silent laugh.

"Is there someone precious to you?" she asked while glancing at you but Naruto didn't know how to respond. She merely laughed but looked at me, "How about you (Y/n)?"

You thought about who was precious to you. Your parents were once precious to you when you were younger but that's all gone now ever since they were all killed. "Well those precious to me are my friends. I wouldn't want to lose them and I'd sacrifice myself if I had to for their sake."

She saw the sincerity in your eyes and became intrigued by you'd answer since you both were almost similar wanting to protect the one precious to you even if it means giving up your life.

"You see when a person has something precious they want to protect, then they become genuinely strong."

You were fascinated by what she said and agreed. She soon stood up and started leaving but not before she said," oh and by the way I'm a boy."

Naruto and I were shocked by the revelation and screamed internally unable to believe the one we were speaking to was a boy.

You soon saw Sasuke coming but when he reached you two he lightly smacked you on the head but put more force when he smacked Naruto.

"You both missed breakfast and didn't show up at all last night," he said while staring down at us.

"Yea hehe sorry if we worried you guys," you said while giving him a small smile.

*Timeskip*

Sakura, Kakashi Sensei and I were watching from below as Naruto successfully managed to climb higher but he slipped while standing on the branch. You were about to run up but Naruto tricked you guys by standing upside down on the branch. We all sighed a sigh of relief but that took a turn of events as he actually lost control and began falling.

You ran up the tree and grabbed onto one of Naruto's ankle before he fell. While you were holding one of his ankles Sasuke came along to help you by grabbing his other ankle. You mouthed a thank you to Sasuke for helping you catch Naruto.

"You really are a loser Naruto," said Sasuke and you simply laughed at the interaction between the two.

*Timeskip*

It was already late at night when you saw both Naruto and Sasuke reach the top of the tree. You congratulated them for their hard work and helped them walk back to Tazuna's house. You slung their arms over your shoulder and struggled to help them both since they were dragging their feet. Once you arrived you removed their arms and dropped them both on the ground.

You apologized for dropping them but told Kakashi Sensei that they managed to reach the top. Starting tomorrow we'd officially start body guarding.

"But why? All this stupid training is just a waste of time. Gato has a whole army he'll beat you down and destroy you. These cool things you say they don't mean anything. No matter what you do the strong always win and the weak always lose," blurted out Inari with tears in his eyes.

"Even those that are weak have the power to become strong. We're not going to give up now we want to be able to help you and everyone else in this village even if it means going up against Gato and his men. We have the courage to stand up against him," you said while Naruto agreed with you.

"Why don't you be quiet just looking at you makes me sick. You don't know anything about this country you're just butting in, always laughing and playing around.You don't know what it's like suffer and be treated like dirt."

You gritted your teeth and knew that Inari's words had caught Naruto's attention. You were about to exclaim something back but Naruto beat you to it."Look at yourself whining and complaining like some sorry little victim. You can complain all day but you're nothing but a coward," said Naruto as he stood up and left. You watched him walk away and wanted to go after him but decided to let him cool off from his and Inari's outburst.

After awhile you went to go check on Naruto but as you were passing by you overheard Kakashi Sensei speaking. "Naruto can be a little harsh sometimes. You probably don't know this but Naruto also grew up without a father, in fact he never knew either of his parents and he didn't have a single friend in our village. That's until (Y/n) came along and befriended him and he was able to actually have a true friend. They shared each other's loneliness and were able to understand pain and suffering. Despite that I've never seen him cry, sulk, or give up. I guess he got tired of crying and decided to do something about it."

You quietly walked away from the conversation they were having and went upstairs to the room you shared with your teammates. You were wide awake so you headed to the window and made your way up to the roof. You stayed out staring at the beautiful night sky, relaxing your mind and body.

"So this is where you were." You turned around and saw Sasuke coming closer and sat down next to you. You both sat there in silence until Sasuke broke the silence, "So, how exactly do you have the Sharingan?"

"Oh right, I said I'd explain that to you. Well I guess I'll also inform you about my clan." You began to explain about how you inherited the Sharingan and about your clan's history between the Uchiha and other clans. You even explained to him about your past and how exactly the downfall of your clan occurred.

"I guess it was luck that inherited it," you said while thinking of your clan and parents. "Sometimes I think about revenge, wanting to avenge them, but I don't want to be consumed by hatred." You stared up at the night sky with a blank expression on your face rethinking about your choices.

Sasuke's P.O.V.

I watched as the light from the moon and stars reflected down on (Y/n)'s face causing her to glow. I was astounded as I paid more attention to her physical features and her behavior. (Y/n) wasn't someone that I really liked, I disliked her at first but now that we're in a team we've gotten closer and I can't help but think if this dislike I use to have towards her turns out to be something more meaningful. I can't stray from my path at the moment. Emotions will only get in my way and affect me from reaching my goal.

2nd person P.O.V.

"Well we should start heading inside and get some rest." Sasuke stood up and reached his hand out for you to take and you gladly accepted. Before you both went inside you surprised Sasuke by giving him a quick hug. "Thank you for listening," you whispered as you procceed to go inside with Sasuke right behind you.
