DRAY AND TORIA STAND BEHIND A WOMAN WHO SITS AT A COMPUTER DESK LOOKING OVER THE SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS.

[Erica]

Everything looks okay from what I'm seeing. As long as he keeps the right GPA above 2.5 he should keep the scholarships that he's given.

[Dray]

I can do that. Guess there was nothing to worry about after all.

[Toria]

Thanks, Erica. It's always great to have a lawyer in the family.

[Erica]

Don't worry about it. So, Dray, you're changing schools? What school are you going to that would require a scholarship?

[Dray]

If I can be honest, I'd rather not say.

ERICA SHOOTS DRAY AN APPREHENSIVE GLANCE.

[Erica]

Well, that has me suspicious. Fine, tell me why you'd need to keep it such a secret.

[Dray]

Because you might tell mama on accident.

[Erica]

If it's this much of a secret then I believe that she deserves to know.

DRAY TAKES A DEEP BREATH.

[Dray]

Where I'm going to school doesn't matter. What does matter is that I'm getting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get out of that toilet bowl of a school that I go to now. Everything about it seems legit so I'm gonna try it out.

[Erica]

If that's the way you want it, fine. I hope that you tell her sooner rather than later though. All in all, I am happy for you. Granite Bay has never had the best reputation.

DRAY AND TORIA WALK ERICA TO THE DOOR.

[Erica]

I've got to go, gotta cook something and get ready for tomorrow. Brandon must be losing his mind, I'm never out this late nowadays. You two be good.

[Dray]

[Toria]

No problem.

DRAY AND TORIA WATCH AS ERICA LEAVES THE DRIVEWAY AND THEN GO BACK INTO THE HOUSE. DRAY FILLS OUT THE FORMS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS ON THE COMPUTER WHILE TORIA LEANS ON THE CHAIR BEHIND HIM.

[Dray]

Toria, I'm stoked! I feel so excited that I can feel my hands shaking while I'm trying to type!

[Toria]

You may want to calm down just a little bit.

[Dray]

I don't think I can. I finally get to leave that trash heap of a school behind me.

[Toria]

Gosh, you're so negative. Aren't you gonna miss anybody?

[Dray]

Sure, there are some people that I'll miss but they're all thinking about transferring to different schools anyway. They'll be in better places.
