"ok you just need to sign this paper to finalise the divorce"
I sighed and nodded before picking up the paper and signing the paper. Once everything was done my now ex husband and I looked at each other awkwardly, I stood up and left the building. I got in my car and drove away.
I had to go get some things at the grocery so I stopped by. As I was walking around trying to not think about this whole situation I heard my name being called.
"y/n?"
I looked up to where the voice came from only to see a very familiar face.
"Jack?"
"hey! what's up?"
He said hugging me, I gladly hugged him back, he had no idea how much I needed it.
"hey haven't seen you in years"
"yeah what you been up to?"
he said pulling back.
"oh god, it's been messy"
"really?"
"yeah uhm-I just got divorced"
"oh! I-I'm sorry"
"it's fine, we were young and dumb, I mean we got married after barely a year. I thought I was in love"
"I knew you guys were dating but then we lost contact and yeah I didn't keep up, sorry"
"it's all good, I mean I've just been focusing on Tim, he's my priority rightnow"
"oh yeah, how's he doing?"
"he's doing good, you haven't ever met him right?"
"no, I was really busy at the time I couldn't come sorry"
"it's fine Jack, i'm about to go pick him up you can come with me if you want"
"yeah I'd love to"
We got to his school and talked as I waited for my boy to come out.
"how old is he now?"
"four, oh there he is"
we got out of the car and he ran up to me, I picked him up and kissed him.
"Mommy!"
"hi baby did you enjoy kindergarten?"
"yes Mommy"
"good"
"hi buddy, I'm Jack"
"hello Jack"
We got back to my house and I asked Jack to play with him while I took a shower. I put on sweats afterwards and walked back down to see them watching one of Tims show while discussing it, which made me smile.
A few months later
Jack was coming over regularly now and he would also babysit Tim when I couldn't be home because of work. We were in my house eating dinner when my boss called me, I sighed and grabbed my phone.
"can you-"
"yes"
Jack said knowing I was gonna ask him to make sure Tim is okay. I smiled and walked into my office.
Jack p.o.v.
"Jack"
"yes?"
"Mommy is not happy"
"why is Mommy not happy?"
"she said 'I don't love you anymore' to Daddy"
"oh baby, it happens, sometimes Mommies and Daddies think they love each other a lot but then they realise that they never really were meant for each other and decide to separate"
"is it because of me?"
"no baby, Mommy loves you very much and so does your Daddy, it's between them not you"
"Mommy once said that you were the one for her and not Daddy"
"oh...she did?"
"yes"
"ugh he's so annoying"
y/n said walking back into the room talking about her boss, I was still pretty surprised by what Tim just said. I'd been in love with her ever since we became good friends, when she left it broke my heart but I couldn't tell her.

She was putting Tim into bed as I waited downstairs contemplating if I should bring it up or not.
"hallelujah he fell asleep quickly today-"
I grabbed her cheeks and kissed her, she was taken back but kissed back. We pulled back and both stared at each other.
"y/n I-"
"I heard what Tim told you"
"is it true?"
"yeah"
I hugged her tight and kissed her cheek, she hugged me back and put her head on my chest.
"it's so true"
"y/n I love you"
"...I love you too Jack...a lot"
she looked up at me and held my cheek, I leaned down and kissed her.
"Mommy"
we pulled back quickly turning our heads to see Tim looking at us. She let my cheek go and stood up walking over to him.
"hey baby why are you up, you need to go to bed"
she picked him up and walked upstairs, I got up and followed them. She put him in his bed and kissed him.
"are you happy now mommy?"
"you're so cute, yes thank you baby"
"I like Jack Mommy"
"I love you Timmy, goodnight baby"
I smiled and walked away from the door a bit, she walked out and closed his bedroom door. She walked over to me and kissed my cheek.

"are you excited?"
"you have no idea, i'm so happy"
"you and Jack are made for each other, he's an amazing man for both you and Tim, he's gonna be an amazing husband and father"
"Moooom, stop i'm crying again"
"I love you darling"
"I love you more Mom"
Today was the day I was finally getting married to the most amazing person I could ask for. This time everything is perfect, I now know what love is and I know I love him, I always have. Jack has been an amazing boyfriend and an even greater father figure for Tim for the last four years. I walked out of the room and joined my dad to walk up the isle.
I looked up and my eyes met with the most perfect man on this earth. He walked down the few stairs and took my hand, he kissed it and smiled his perfect smile which I gladly shot back.
The pastor was talking but we both weren't listening since we were just looking into each others eyes. After quite a while we were finally declared husband and wife, he gladly pulled me closer and kissed me, making everyone cheer. We laughed and walked back down the isle, Jack picked me up twirling me around as we both laughed before sharing a passionate kiss.
"I love you more then you'll ever know"
"Jack you're perfect, thank you for changing me for the better"
