Calvin POV
I heard Brenna yelling at Cameron. I was about to walk in when... "You're always talking about him! I don't want him near you! He's a bad influence!" She yells. I was shocked to hear that, does she think about me like that? I stood next to the door listening to what Cameron had to say. I heard him sigh "Calvin isn't a bad influence, you're just jealous because I have a friend!" Cameron snaps at her. Brenna groaned "I have friends!" She says. Cameron chuckles "Do you think I believe that? Bren, I know you fought with your friends." He tells her. She groans "So what? We were talking about Calvin." She says. Cameron takes a deep breath "He's my friend, he is not a bad influence." Cameron tells her again. I smiled slightly as I heard him say that "He's not your friend! Look what he did to you." She says and points at his cheek. He puts his hand over his cheek "He didn't do this." He says "Then who did?" She asks. Cameron was silent and Brenna sighted "Cammy, I want to help you." she says and puts her hand on his shoulder "I know he did it, you don't have to lie." She says softly. He pushes her hand off his shoulder "He didn't do it!"

I walked towards them "Why would I hurt him?" I ask her. She glares at me "Were you overhearing our conversation?!" She yells "I'm glad I did." I tell her. I turn to Cameron "Dude, don't listen to her, she's being selfish." I tell Cameron "What?!" Brenna yells. Cameron steps towards Brenna "Why do you hate him so much?" He asks her. Brenna groans irritated "He was the reason you came home drunk and your shirt smelled like cigarettes." She tells him. I scratch the back of my neck "It was just a little party." "Exactly! And if you have a problem with me having friends then you should leave." He tells her. Her mouth opened slightly "Cammy-" She starts "What? Ever since we got together I have lived my life the way you wanted me to. I don't want to live like that forever!" He tells her. Tears started to form in her eyes "What are you saying?" She asks "I am asking you to leave. I don't want you to decide who I can be friends with." Cameron tells her. She wipes her tears away "If you want me to leave, that's fine, just don't come to me when it turns out I was telling you the truth all along." She snaps and walks away.

Cameron POV
I glance at Calvin "Do you think I was too harsh on her?" I ask him. He shakes his head slightly "No, you did what you had to do." he tells me. I glance at the door Brenna just walked through "Maybe I should talk to her, I never wanted to yell at her." I say quietly. He puts his hand on my shoulder "You both need some time to think, distance can help with that." he tells me. I smile slightly "I'm glad you think about it like that." He smiles back "Within two days, you'll be glad you send her away." He says. I raise an eyebrow "How do you know that?" I ask him. He chuckles "Because that's what we feel. When your lover is getting on your nerves and they leave for a couple of hours or days you're a happy man again! You can be yourself again!" He says. I nod slowly "Be myself again." I say quietly. He puts his hand on my shoulder "Yourself! No sweet boyfriend act, just you. Maybe we should have another little party. At my house, tomorrow!" he said. I glance at him "Cal, my parents weren't really happy when I came home from your last party. I think I'll pass." I tell him.

He smiles "They don't need to know. The snitch is gone." He grins. I sigh "Alright, but no alcohol or cigarettes." I tell him. He nods "Alright, no alcohol or cigarettes." he says. He glances at the door "I should probably go home, homework ya know." He says "We got homework?" I ask him. He nods and grabs his bag from the floor "Yeah, don't worry, I'll text you the answers." He says. I look at him confused "But-" I started but he cut me off "I copied the answers before I left. I got your back, Bro!" He says. I smile slightly "Thanks." I say "Of course!" He said. I walked with him to the front door. I was about to open it when it opened from the other side and Clarke ran in "Cammy!!" She screams and jumps into my arms. She sees Calvin and starts to smile "Calvin!" She says and gives him a little hug. I chuckle a little and set her back down. My mother walked in "Hey Honey." She said and kissed my cheek. She looks at Calvin "You must be...Calvin...right?" She asks. He nods "I am. I'm sorry Ma'am but I have to leave now." he says "We can meet some other day." He said. She nods "Alright, be safe." She said. He smiles "Thank you, Ma'am. Later, Cam." He said and left.
