Cameron POV
"Wow, are you sure he's not crushing on you?" Blake asked me. I nodded, "He does not have a crush on me. He's just protective." I said.
He rubs his chin, "Any idea why he's so protective?" He asked me. I shrugged and shook my head "I don't know for sure but I think it has something to do with me
being the newbie. He told me about the time when he was the newbie,
I think he wants to prevent that from happening again." I tell him. He looks at me
"Do you know what happened to him?" He asked me. I shook my head
"I don't know any details, I just know that it was a hard time for him." I tell him. He nodded "Alright. And what are you going to do about Brody?" He asked me.
I shrugged "I don't know. He doesn't like me at all. I've tried as much as I possibly can." I tell him.
He rubs his chin again "There must've been one moment where he kind of liked you." He said.
I shrugged, "When you give him vodka." I said.
He chuckled "That would explain his hangovers. To be honest, the only thing I can offer to help you is my friendship. Because I'm not going to beat up Brody." He said.
I chuckled "That's okay. Thank you, Blake." I said. He smiled "Of course. Hey, I have to get to class, maybe we can meet up after school?" He suggests. I nod "I would like that. How about we meet back here?" I said.
He nods, "Okay, later!" He said and ran off. Blake is always trying to help everyone. His father, the principal, made him some kind of school counselor, which is helpful.
I just hope I'm not making another mistake by trusting him.
Please let this not be a mistake. I took my phone out of my pocket and saw I got multiple messages from Brenna again. I sighed loudly and ignored her again.
Yes, I still haven't told her I know about her cheating. It's bad, I know, but I don't want to deal with her right now. When I glanced back at my screen I saw that Max was calling me.
"Hey, Dude," I said. "Hey, man, how are you?" He asked.
I shrugged even though he couldn't see me, "I've been better. How are you?" I asked him. He sighed "Been better. I never thought I would miss my best friend as much as I do." He said.
I smiled "To be honest, I could use my best friend as well." I tell him.
I heard him sit down "Is this about Brenna, or is it about something else?" He asked me.
I sighed and run my hand through my hair "Both." I tell him,
"She keeps texting me. I am trying to ignore her, but that's easier said than done." I tell him.
"I couldn't agree with you more." He said.
I looked up and saw Brody, Felix, Calvin, and some other guys walking towards the table next to mine. I sighed again, "What's wrong?" he asked. I saw Calvin looking at me.
I broke the eye contact "I'll tell you later." I tell him.
"Alright, Dude. Oh shit, Brenna is coming." He said, "I'll talk to you later." He said and hung up. I groaned and put my phone back in my pocket. I stood up, slung my bag
over my shoulder, and walked away.Calvin POV
I watched as he walked away. I wonder who he was talking to. "Cal, you still here with us?" Felix said snapping me out of my thoughts. I nod, "I'm here. I was just a little-"
"Distracted." He finished. Brody glanced at me, "What?" I asked him. He shrugged, "Nothing." He said. I groaned loudly. Like I don't know what he was thinking.
I folded my arms over my chest "Brody, please, stop trying to set me up with Cameron. Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with you. You hate him but you still want us to be together." I said. He shrugged "He has to realize who owns the joint here." He said.
I chuckled "You think you own the joint? You're very funny, man, but you're just trying to scare him." I said. He shrugged again "So what? A little scare won't hurt." He said.
I sighed "You're weird." I said. I stood up from the table and slung my bag over my shoulder. "Where are you going?" Felix asked me. "Away from you guys." I said.
I opened the main doors and walked out towards the back of the school. I checked at first if there was no one around before I lite my cigarette.
I sighed and let the smoke escape my lips. It's relaxing. "I thought you would stop." Someone said. I sighed recognizing the voice "I never promised you anything." I said.A/n: Any thoughts?
