Chapter 47

A/N: I'm a big fan of The Neighborhood, one of my favorite songs is the famous Sweater Weather and the one that I have personally chosen for this chapter.

It gives the chapter more of the somber vibe that I want it to portray and I come to realize that the song can be used to describe Yeonjun's character in this story.

Either way, I'll shut up and let you read ksjkdjkdks.

Yeonjun was crouching on the ground. He was located at a small valley where poppy flowers were scattered around in crowds of purple petals. And a tree taller than any other at the jungle, jotted from the ground behind Yeonjun, its leaves falling with the delicate wind.

The sky above the 20-year old was a pale peachy color, but despite the daylight, there was no sign of birds or the King of Stars.

Instead, the roar of a dark fire-breathing creature could be heard in the distance, its cry along with the flapping of wings symbolizing death itself.

The Earth Tribe warrior's chest heaved multiple times as he gasped for air. His brown eyes were wide open, and his silver hair a mess. His antlers were gone along with a curse that a bringer of malice had settled over both Fire and Earth Tribe when the two former Elementals had finally exiled him from the island.

Blood began to surround Yeonjun, painting his hands and his white clothing a deadly scarlet color as it puddled below him.

Yeonjun's eyes filled with tears. He had become so familiarized with these surroundings and the scarlet red liquid.

It scared him to see his hands drowning with blood that didn't belong to him, and it scared him to know that even if he was unscratched, he was the main reason for such an unfortunate mishappen.

Whose blood was this?

He wasn't sure.

As far as he knew, it could've belonged to anyone. . . But either way, it still made his own blood run cold.

He didn't want this. . .

He couldn't stand it any longer. . .

He wanted to run away. . .

He wanted to run away from the mistakes he made and the cat that had destroyed him.

By every day that passed, he could feel how little by little he was starting to lose himself inside the darkest pits of the moon.

A familiar noise made Yeonjun's ears prick.

The sound of sobbing began to fill the already eerie atmosphere. They were the cries of a mother's grief at seeing her own son surrounded by the blood that wasn't his.
