Beomgyu's eyes fluttered open at the sudden screeching of macaws that rang loudly in his now sensitive ears. The screeching was so loud that it inevitably woke him up from a cute dream where he had a tea party with his friends while eating sashimi.

Beomgyu grunted and snuggled closer to Yeonjun who was snoring rather loudly. More screeches were heard and now Beomgyu wondered if he had really been woken up by macaws fighting each other or Yeonjun's snoring.

After rubbing his eyes and letting out a yawn that showed off each and everyone of his sharp tiger-like fangs, Beomgyu turned his body to the side and blinked at Yeonjun's face. The older look so peaceful and cute; his rosy cheeks and his ruffled hair making him look more adorable than he already was.

The younger softly placed his hand on the older's cheek and caressed it before kissing his nose. But the seemingly perfect and peaceful moment was suddenly filled with dread when Yeonjun began mumbling. . .

". . . The island. . . They had a right to protect it from evil. . ."

Beomgyu's head shot up. Every single one of his hairs stood on end. He didn't know why, but the older's mumbling suddenly sent light shivers down his spine. "Yeonjunnie?" Beomgyu said quietly and softly tapped the older's shoulder.

After his failed attempt at gently waking his lover up, Beomgyu grabbed Yeonjun's shoulder to shake him awake.

But his new attempt at waking the older was then interrupted by a harsh rustling above the trees. Beomgyu sat up and looked at the delicate leaves of the trees fly away into the air as well as green feathers. The stray feathers came from a green and much smaller bird that was moving his wings aggressively while cussing in a loud birdcall at the two scarlet macaws that were ganging up on him.

Not finding the green parrot's attitude amusing, the two macaws opened their large beaks and sank them into the parrot's body, plucking and tearing his feathers while making the poor green bird screech in pain.

Beomgyu's pupils became big as his predatory instincts clicked, sending the urge to kill all throughout his body. He crawled away from Yeonjun and circled the tree with anticipation while watching his green-feathered breakfast lose his grip on the branch when the macaws attacked him again. In utter shock, the poor bird forgot how to fly and came falling down the tree.

Beomgyu's teeth chattered in anticipation, so he tensed his muscles before leaping into the air. The 18-year spread his arms open and opened his mouth, catching the green parrot with his mouth as the bird squeaked with surprise. . . He caught it! He caught his and Yeonjun's breakfast! He made his first kill- wait. . .

How exactly do you kill it?

Beomgyu quirked his brow and spat the tiny creature onto the jungle floor quite harshly. The impact didn't seem to affect the parrot as he shook his tiny body and smoothed out his now saliva-soaked feathers. Beomgyu circled the bird, his hazel eyes basically examining and eating the bird by just glancing at it. "Mmm. . . Here, tell me something," Beomgyu sat down criss-crossed before grabbing the bird with his hand and letting the pointy tip of his claws poke at his meal's flesh. "Would it hurt less if I set you on fire or crushed you with my bare hands?"

He tilted his head and kept examining the bird. He used to hunt down creatures like these when he was a kid. He would also be told to chase pigeons back at the lab to check how fast he could run or check his reflexes. He'd always felt the urge to kill the pigeons he's had to hunt, but the monsters had never allowed him to kill them in fear that he might get used to eating raw meat and develop a hunger for human flesh.
