Kai let out a small gasp at the cold white paint that Jimin spread on his cheeks gingerly. The news about him and Soobin meeting up had traveled quickly throughout the tribe, it was like a small flame turned into a whole raging fire sweeping and spreading all over the jungle's humid flooring.
Like one would guess, many of his tribemates had pulled him to a corner and questioned him about the rumours of a flesh-eating syren becoming his suitor and being granted with the possibility of becoming his mate.
Kai had been confused about the question, but once he asked them what a mate was or the explanation of a bond, his tribemates had gasped with horror and immediately left him alone.
And Kai ended up being confused once again; Those two words were the ones he heard the most, but the ones he knew about the least.
"Sunbaenim, he's supposed to wear a feathered crown, right?" Kai snapped back to reality at catching sight of the pretty and colorful feathers of a crown big enough to hide Jeongin's face.
Jimin let out one of his cute giggles, his eyes seemingly disappearing as he did so. "Of course not," The leader proceeded to to grab a small glittery powder and dabbed some of it onto Kai's eyelids and bellow his eyes. "He's going on a date, he's not having a ceremony now, is he?"
Chan, who had helped Jimin make the paint out of balsa flowers and white lilies, snorted with laughter and playfully nudged Jeongin's arm.
The younger let out a shy smile and buried his face against the feathers of the crown. "W-Well. . . I thought he would look pretty with it."
"Here, I need more white lilies. Can you two be lovely enough to bring more for me?" Jimin grabbed the now empty rocky bowl with his small hands and held it up to Chan and Jeongin to take for refill.
Chan nodded at his leader before quickly grabbing the bowl from him and going off with Jeongin close behind him.
Kai let out a small sigh of relief.
Despite becoming more open and slightly more extroverted, Kai still preferred to stay alone with Jimin and only talk to him. It gave him a sense of comfort since Jimin was more to Kai than just a leader, he was more like a person that Kai could talk to and trust. And after Soobin had confessed, Kai was able to figure out that. . . Yeah, his feelings towards Jimin were just admiration. He liked Soobin too much, no one could replace his lovely and adorably awkward Hyung.
"So," Jimin's voice broke through Kai's thoughts, the leader had his hands pressed to his chin and a beautiful smile that made his eyes squint spread along his petite face. "Who's the lucky one?" His eyebrow rose and his smile contorted into a smirk which made Kai's cheeks get red with embarrassment.
The younger looked down shyly and his hands fidgeted with the bracelet that Soobin had given him. "S-Soobin-Hyung." He closed his eyes and lifted his shoulders to hide his burning cheeks. His heart was beating fervently at the mention of the older's name, it felt so weird yet so fascinating to him.
Every emotion just felt so new now that he was finally embracing these feelings. It made him so happy and. . . Bubbly.
The leader let out an excited squeal. If he didn't care about the image of a leader with great authority over his warriors and apprentices, he would be bouncing up and down while hugging Kai tightly. "That's so cute! I knew you two would eventually end up together."
