"My father hasn't told me anything about newcomers." Jungkook shifted his cold gaze towards the four who were huddling against each other as a way to protect each other from a possible threat.

"But they are new! They just arrived, please my leader. . . Let them into our tribe. . . At least for now! I'll. . . I'll be responsible for them." Yeonjun begged, his head still bowed, but his voice was slightly growing desperate. "They don't have anywhere to stay, please. I'll look after them."

The tribe leader stayed quiet though, his eyes examining the phenomenons that were Yeonjun's alleged friends; their bodies where filled with scratches and bruises, their ribs could be seen too. So far, the only one that seemed to be slightly healthy was the syren; his scales were a silvery gray though, very different from the vibrant cool colors that corresponded to his species.

Even though his scales showed that he was sickly, the syren had his arms wrapped around the other creatures protectively. He looked over at the feathered and fragile looking one, his big doe eyes met his; he looked so skinny and delicate. His hair was ruffled and his gaze showed how exhausted he was. Well, everyone of the four creatures had that same tired gloss to their eyes.

The tribe leader wanted to refuse to take them in, specially the one with stripes on his face. I mean. . . Why would he take in creatures that just didn't belong in his tribe and could be possible threats? It would be like a death sentence for his people. But. . . He quickly found out that he couldn't refuse, not when a flashback that tore at his heart strings slipped into his mind.

Yeonjun had looked at him like that once; he gad given him the same gaze that was filled with exhaustion, but lots of desperation too. He was a grown man and a great warrior too, but when he had first joined his tribe, Yeonjun had been nothing but a vulnerable and broken boy. No older than 17 and with no knowledge on how to survive without someone to protect him or soothe him whenever his past traumas were triggered.

Jungkook had taken him in, he had been the one to take care and teach Yeonjun everything he knew and what he needed to do in order to defend himself and survive against the dangers of the jungle, specially against Fire Tribe and their ruthless warriors. After all. . . Yeonjun had practically been the son he would never be able to have.

Jungkook let out a sigh, he had saved Yeonjun from his harsh destiny, why not help these other unfortunate souls as well? It was the right the thing to do. "Come," He finally commanded before turning around. "I'm sure I have a few blankets and clothing while you four stay."

Yeonjun lifted his head, his frown turning into a happy smile as he stood up and bounded happily towards his friends. "What are you guys waiting for? Come, come!"

Taehyun cringed as Yeonjun grabbed Beomgyu's hand and lured him away, letting the younger trot behind him like an excited deer. "Since when is he that touchy with Beomgyu? Yuck."

"Aww, is someone jealous?" Kai teased, battering his eyelashes at Taehyun.

But Taehyun immediately shook his head. He only saw Beomgyu and Yeonjun as his big brothers, nothing more, nothing less. Plus, he wasn't into boys and he certainly would never allow himself into developing a crush on his four chaotic friends. "I'm not jealous, it's just. . . I just think it's unusual."

Soobin chuckled, putting his arm around Kai. "Oh, so you think this is unusual too?"

Taehyun's mouth twitched with laughter at the familiar and adorable flushed look that shone in Kai's eyes as well as the blush that decorated his face. "Nah, that's just two gums being in their natural habitat," He gave them a wink. "If you count the fact that they like each other."
