'Dickhead, you scared me,' I hissed at him. He still chuckled and leaned his arm on my shoulder, shoving his sunglasses up his nose and ignoring the wide-eyed stare of a few teenagers around us.
'Are you coming for dinner with us tonight?'
'Who do you mean with 'us'?,' I asked him, shoving him away from me because his weight was too much.
'Me and the guys! The whole band!'
'Oh, sure.' I smiled at him and he grinned back.
'Nice. I just wanna spend time with you before we obviously won't see each other again for a while,' Austin said. That idea made me sad and I sighed.
'Yeah. I don't wanna go home...'
'Cheer up, princess.' He nudged my shoulder and smiled down on me, and I hugged his side. Austin put an arm around me and like that we watched Sleeping With Sirens for a while, now me ignoring the stares and whispers of fans too until one of the teenagers found some courage to come to Austin to ask him something. Austin happily obliged to make small talk, take pictures with people and sign things, and I shook my head and rolled my eyes with a smile when he winked at me.
After ten minutes or so he was done and the set was over, so we walked off with the rest of the crowd.
'You're gonna watch our show side stage?,' Austin asked.
'D'uh,' I just said, shoving my all-access pass in his face. 'I'll even bring out my camera. Gotta have some good pics of you guys to keep up my memory.' Austin laughed and we walked on like that, just talking and bickering, stopping every now and then when Austin's name was called by a fan. I liked watching him interact with fans, but it took forever to get to where we were heading, and I made a mental note never to date someone famous, because I hated to draw attention and be kept up by strangers.
When yet another fan had gotten their few minutes of attention by him, he sighed and made a tired face. I chuckled and jumped on his back.
'Bring me far away from here,' I said. 'Away from the crowd.'
'Aye, captain,' he said, finding his way through the festival-goers, excusing himself to people who wanted to talk to him. 'Carrying heavy load, sorry!,' he said a few times, making me slap his shoulder. Eventually we came backstage, and he dropped me back on my feet. It was less crowded here, and the people who were here weren't interested in Austin's attention. My eyes fell on the guys of Bring Me and I walked up to them. Nicholls was laughing about Lee and Kean, Jona was texting on his phone and Oliver was sitting quite a bit away from everyone, seemingly dazed off and lightly scanning his surroundings.
'Hey lads,' I said, smiling at them. Oliver looked at me sideways, biting his lip at the sight of Austin and looked away again. His eyes were dull, sunken deep in their dark sockets. He hadn't slept in the bus last night, and only God knew what he had been up to.
Nonetheless, I sat down next to him and smiled. Oliver gave me a faint, fake smile and pulled his phone out of his pocket, ignoring me while scrolling.
'Hey, Oli?,' I tried.
'Hmm?' He didn't even look up at me, sniffed his nose and scrolled along on his phone.
'Of Mice is playing in an hour and I was going to watch them - would you like joining me?' He frowned and his eyes finally met mine.
'Why?,' he asked in confusion and sounding almost annoyed. I shrugged and frowned too.
'I don't know, I just thought it would be nice to go see them together,' I muttered. 'Never mind, though...' Oliver looked at me weirdly and I got up, joining the rest of the band in their conversation for a while, until I remembered to try and call Brian once again.
