Chapter 26 - Core of Fire

Blizzard: All right! Nice going shadow!

Shadow: Don't celebrate yet, I can still feel danger surrounding us.

Blizzard: Aw man!

Max: Quit your whining and put your head back into the fight, they're starting to come back.

Blizzard: Fine fine! But after this I deserve a break.

Zeus: I can put you into a permanent sleep if you want.

Blizzard: Thanks!.... Hey what do you mean permanent sleep?

Zeus: Focus on the fight!

Blizzard: Ah! Right!

He equipped his scythe again.

"Let's rock!"

Lian's POV:

I've been here for what I feel like the past ten minutes, I just hope everyone's okay...

I've been circling this same entire room but there's no more information I can gather.

What are these engravings saying... But enough of this, I'll continue it on another time.

I left the room without hesitation no more and proceeded to climb on the remaining stairs.

After a long run from all of these stairs I finally reached the top, in front of me was a huge door.

Wasting any time no longer, I kicked the door open, it revealed to me the room of the core of fire, it's pulsing a bright light, the glow of it almost blinded me but I was able to cover my eyes, I started to approach it when suddenly, the pulse started to fade away.

"Huh?" I said.

I had noticed the core was reacting to my presence, as I kept on moving myself even more near to it, the pulse weakened.

"Hm... Now to do my work" as I was about to touch the core, I heard a giggle from behind me.

Quickly turning around, there was no one, not even a shadow of it.

Ignoring on what it may possibly be, I turned my attention back to the core.

Before my hand was about to reach it, a bullet was shot it my direction, in just a split second I was able to roll away from the core and dodged the bullet.

The bullet disintegrated the moment it made contact with the core.

"Huh?"

"Well well well.. What do we have here, an intruder?" A voice of a woman said to me, her body was still hiding amongst the darkness but it's obvious that she's standing right in front of me.

I stood back up again, placing my hands right to my hips, I decided to respond.

"The only one intruding here is you... Who are you?"

"My my my, do you not know who you're talking to?"

"No"

"Well... I really can't blame you, you've never even met me before" the woman walked slightly to my direction, slowly revealing herself to me.

"Forgive the improper entrance, my name is Eliza Vonschweetz" she introduced herself.

"Eliza... Vonschweetz..." I repeated, that name kind of sounds familiar.

Lian: Eliza Vonschweetz... You were that pervert of a student weren't you?

Eliza: Did a birdie tell you that?
