Lian's POV:

The continuous clacking sound of my heels echoed through my ear, the constant heavy breathings that both me and max looped all around my head, I feel like I'm dizzy, but at the same time... Energized and prepared to do anything.

I mainly focused on our tasks but I keep averting my gaze to whatever is in front of me, my eyes keep flying over to look at max who was beside me, for once I realized that without them, I would've really lost everything... I wouldn't be able to get back up on my own two feet... I'd just be a burden in the world I was born in...

These negative ideas keep popping up I don't know where these came from... I don't know why they're all of a sudden appearing I just....

"Lian!" My mind felt like it was snapped back to reality, looking at my right side, I saw max, standing in front of me, his eyes looked worried... I wonder why.

"H-huh?" I felt all confused as to why we stopped running.

"What's the matter? Why are you tearing up?" He asked me as he scooped one of the teardrops sliding down on my tear to my cheeks.

"O-oh! Forgive me... I don't know what's gotten into me..." I apologized... I'm losing focus.

"It's okay... Let's just move on hm?" He politely patted my shoulder and gave me a wide grin before we proceeded on.

We finally arrived at the third crystal, it's shards were as small as the previous ones that were destroyed but this looks more damaged and pulverized...

"Do you think you can still fix them lian? These look more... Dusted" max took a small sample of the dusted crystal and rubbed them off with his fingertips.

"I can try... I know I can fix them but it'll take me a lot of time"

Hovering my hand above the shattered remains of the crystal, I began to whisper a soft chant, almost inaudible even to my ears.

My palm began to emit a bright glow, almost able to blind both of us.

After giving it a few seconds to work, the dusts seems to refuse to communicate with my power.

"Hm... This can't be good" I sighed tiredly for waiting a long time just to see the crystals remained destroyed.

I saw max come up to me and kneeled down.

"It didn't work?" He asked before turning his head on my direction.

"It would seem so" I rolled my eyes and stood back up.

Max as well got up and tidied himself up before investigating as to what is currently going on.

"This should've worked... I am too sure of this, something's off" I stated.

It is quite strange as to how my power didn't apply itself to the crystal.

Placing both of my hands on my hips, I watched over max and noticed something, his ears perked up.

Slowly approaching him, I squinted my eyes in the direction he was looking at, trying to give it a clearer look, my eyes widened.

"No... That can't be it" I mumbled, we both stood and stared at a bunch of shards that looked like real crystals...

"Yes... Those must be the real crystals"  max replied.

"Then that means-" I felt a glow emit behind us, quickly equpping my guns along with max activating his gauntlets, both of us received a great hit on our stomachs making us drop down on one of the highest buildings.

3rd Person's POV:

As the moment lian and max had turned around, a tail that's surely belongs to a beast whipped them both hard in their stomach, pushing them off the building causing them to fall over.
